I have a center/offset. It looks like the fitment tube-wise is totally the same as the original muffler from sizing it up. I am still going to replace the GMPP muffler it's self with the Dynomax that I have, and it looks like it'll still work.. I can't wait to try it. It sounded great on my Dads Monte.. See for yourself.. lol

So, got the Dynomax thrown on with the stock SS header/dp, cat, resonator, etc. It sounds great. Similar to a stock SS system, but wit ha nice deep purr. This is only after 20 minutes, so i'm sure it'll get a little louder over time, but nothing extreme.. I'll probably get a YouTube clip up when I get everything finalized.. I need to adjust the tip and tubing section leading to the tip.. Slightly offset in the rear lip..

I'll look at the box and see about the number.. But it's just the one you buy at the local parts store.. Center/Offset, 2.5 inch oval.. They basically did a direct cut-n-weld it looks like. The only thing I don't like is the tip exits too far to the right right now.. So I'm gonna work with it and put a double-wall tip back on.. The single kinda looks silly to me now..

I switched to the dynomax s/t muffler. sounded real good though with stock piping until the resonator started falling apart and rattling. had to replace it with a summit glasspack res. its a lil louder now but not horrible, considering I push 265whp through it.

I would like more of a deeper, gurgle sound, but considering its a 2 liter engine I guess I will stop bitching.

well, a glasspack res. isn't going to give you a sound that you are wanting. Should have bought a different resonator. The longer the resonator the quieter the sound also.

another thing you could do, is add another dynomax muffler right before the rear axle. With 2 of them, i doubt your exhaust would make hardly any noise.

I'd rather not talk about this exhaust situation at the moment.. I went back over to the shop to have them reposition the tip and stuff and they gave me the run around. Until Wednesday. So I came home and took the grinder wheel to the extension so at least it's not banging off the bumper. So then I'll have to take it back over for them to re-weld the tip extension in, weld the tip on, and adjust a few clamps. Fail.

sorry to hear that man. Sometimes you get a good exhaust shop, sometimes you don't. I've experienced both.

It's dumb because when I had them weld in the resonator it was basically super smooth, but then this muffler situation was a totally different story. And of course they think I'm just some punk who doesn't know cars so they're trying to say I got the wrong muffler and **** and it's like, yeah, I'm so sure.. I know cars, so this is really irritating. The guy wasn't listening to what I was saying. I was like "Hack the piping off, turn it 90 degrees, and re-weld. Fixed." and of course it was some big situation. That's most of the reason i'm going back to semi-stock on my car. I'm sick of going to a shop to get something done and it ends up being some big catastrophe because I have mods. **** that.

lol. sorry to hear that. don't let a shop like that get your heart down. I try to find a shop that is going to be good to me, and after that, no matter the cost, I always go back to them. Yea, i try to bargain shop, but at the same time, you can't really put a price on loyalty, they always end up treating you right.

I'm going to bet getting this same muffler for my G5 Gt. I watched your vids and I like how your car sounds, not too loud but enuff to be heard when you step on it. I did notice though in your vids that the muffler you got is centered even though you said you got a side/side muffler. If i get a centre/offset muffler I should be fine right?

I reccomend keeping your 2.4 exhaust stock aside from the Dynomax. You'll love it. That's how mine is now. And i like this current set up far more than my GMPP and Ark N2 on this car.. So clean looking, and exactly as I was looking for sound-wise.

I'll be getting exhaust clips in the next few days.. Trust me.. It's nice.. Spend the 50 bucks, weld it on, and call it a day..

awesome man yeah i'll just get the muffler welded on. I wanna hear what it sounds like on your car since we both got the 2.4 ecotec motor. And if you get a chance can you do a fly by or a quick 0-60 pull tks.

Yeah man, I definitely will. Just get the 2.5 inch center/offset and weld it in. Then use the stock connector piece (muffler to tip) to center the tip into position if needed (I needed to). It's super legit. Smooth and quiet at idle, and a nice, responsible growl when you step on it. Seriously, it's perfect. And my Dad had a set of them on his Monte SS and they lasted like 100k miles and 4 years - in the north.

Yeah, my GMPP was on the car for like 3 years, and I finally had enough. Went to a pretty new Ark N2 and it was worse. This Dynomax is MINT!

Mine is definitely NOT center/offset. Mine is offset/offset. Mine has exhaust enter on the passenger side of the muffler and exit on the driver's side. It made for a perfect fit for the tip right out the back of the car. Notice how averagewhiteboy is having fitment issues (although easily fixable) with his center/offset. I had ZERO fitment issues with my offset/offset muffler.

I highly reccomend him or anyone else getting an Offset/Offset muffler to try and avoid the fitment issues like you did. Mine fit like a glove being that it is offset/offset.

See, when I sized the center/offset up to it while on the rack initially, it looked flush. It wasn't. haha

Guys,

I'm talking to Mandrel Bent Exhaust Systems seeing if they can use a Dynomax Super Turbo with an exhaust if I choose to order it from them, rather than the Borla or Magnaflow that they include with the cat-back. I'll keep you updated.

How far do you think 2.5" exhaust can support? TVS? or does a TVS require 3"?
