ah, no worries, still an easy fix.

How far do you think 2.5" exhaust can support? TVS? or does a TVS require 3"?
Do you have a built motor and do you plan to run a really small pulley and push for 350+whp? If so, then get a 3" exhaust, but if that's more of a long term goal, or not a goal at all, then just stick with 2.5".

No, I just want to run 12's with the M62 and not blow it up

I'll let you guys know if they will swap a Dynomax Super Turbo for their other mufflers...
This might be attractive to other cobalt/ion owners that don't want their cars to sound like ****

I made 320 whp with the vibrant header and dp. Honestly, I think it's possible to get away with a 2.5" exhaust if you're not going crazy with the powah.

Honestly, the Dynomax sounds absolutely mint. I am so excited about how my car sounds now.. I also like how that I can actually hold a conversation in my car now while driving.. lol It's funny because when you first install it, it's super quiet, but then after a few days go by, it gets perfect.. Gonna get that clip here soon, but I've been in class and at work, and it's been below freezing here forever now.. lol

And yes, I think the 2.5 will be sufficient as long as you don't have a hp monster.. the Dynomax mufflers are supposed to be good with lots of power.. And as I said before, my Dad had a pair of them on his Monte SS 3.8 and they lasted for like 100k miles and through several northern winters.. Win.

Ralliartist, maybe me and you should call up Dynomax and try to get some free ****.. Seeing as how we're gonna probably have them lined up with tons of sales now.. haha

I had a header, no cat and the dynomax catback (super turbo muffler) on one of my neons, and it sounded good. Hopefully it sounds good on the LSJ!

then you don't need a 3" exhaust at all. 2.5" is fine for you.

lol, yea, I could use a 3" inlet/outlet offset/offset in preparation for my next setup.

I always thought that an exhaust system had to be loud to support a lot of flow, over the years I've had so many catless/mufferless/cutouts/turndowns that I'm used to my car being loud in order for it to be fast.

But When I discovered this dynomax muffler just hanging out in the back of my local exhaust shop covered in dust just last year in Nebraska, I figured what the hell, I'll give it a shot. So he gave it to me for practically free and I was SHOCKED to hear it sound so close to stock yet a deeper and nicer tone. No performance hindered at all!

This won't be the last Dynomax muffler I buy, that's for sure!

I can vouch for the Muffler too Must have been an Omaha thing. Muffler was exactly like ralliartist said... cheap to get. Threw it on the car probably 2.5 years ago and it still sounds awesome.

Mine was on a 2.2L and was just a cut and weld. Had some slight rasp at first while it burned the oils off, now it's really nice. Buddy of mine had to replace his exhaust and was so impressed by the Super Turbo muffler he bought one to put on his ride.

When you put your foot into it the muffler lights up, but nothing obnoxious. But for city cruisin or highway riding, you'll be happy you don't hear it much at all

This muffler with a stock resonator feels better than my full GMPP catback did in terms of response and flow.. Seriously.. lol And sounds 500x better..

Their "super turbo" mufflers have a little bit of glass packing. You can see this in the cutaway photos. It will burn in over the course of a week or so and increase in volume some. The first couple hours of driving it will smell awful too.

I have a TVS and Clear Image 4-1 3"downpipe catlees with 3" exhaust with vibrant ultraquiet resonator and a magnaflow muffler and still sound too loud for me. Can the dynomax quiet him down?

I would say 100% yes. I had a ZZP header/dp on with my GMPP and it was insanely loud. But I think that with this Dynomax that it would've been a very nice combo.. Honestly, the response and power seems better with this muffler than with my full GMPP catback..

dude, magnaflow mufflers are ******* LOUD. They are not very quiet at all. A Dynomax muffler will almost delete the sound compared to the magnaflow.

ops yeah ******* loud someone told me was not going to sound that hard lol

What you think about this dynomax muffler: #17744 super turbo muffler

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_2594wt_939

I think this will have good clearance under my car. I am right?

that one should work, but you might have some slight fitment issues since it's got a center/side inlet/outlet. Try to get a side/side.

do you know how long your muffler is?, and i think i might wait for the new dynomax vt muffler, and you said side/side fits best so opposite sides or same?

No, i don't remember how long it is. I never measured it to be honest. And the car is in Nebraska and I'm in Germany, so I can't really go out and measure it.

Opposite side to side is what you want.

that VT design is pretty bad ass. BUT, I don't care for the exhaust to be loud when I get on it. I like the quiet exhaust I got now with the super turbo design. It still flows a lot. I'm happy.
