Removing Engine Plastic

How in the hell do i take off that ugly plastic cover on my 2.4L?

I think i need a freakin how to, cause that cap over the palstic does not budge.
Am i missing something or what, anybody got any pics that can help, of a de-plastic'd 2.4l?

you have to take the oil cap off first. then just pull up

ok, cause i wrenched on that thing and i thought i was gonna break it and it barely moved. maybe im just a *****. I'll try again on monday. lol

just yank on the plastic extension for the oil cap its in there good but will come out without breaking.

not with these things they have a lock on them that you can't easily access when its on. so you have to yank it out.

umm the second i drove my car into the driveway the day i bought it i twisted off the oil cap (left the extension) and the plastic pulled right off my first try.

I ripped that **** off the first day I got my car and sent it straight to the trash, lol.

But yes, like everyone said, remove oil cap, then pull up.

I wondered if people ever took that plastic cover off. I remember when I first opened the hood I was like "wtf wheres the engine?".

lol pulled mine @ 280 miles on the car when i installed my CAI. Take off the regular oil cap and its easier if you pull the drivers side front corner up first then pull up and twards the drivers side front corner.

Its basically fastened via rubber sleeves slipped over posts.

No the only thing it does is makes your engine quieter. so when you take it off your engine will sound louder especially when you add a intake. It will also make your engine cooler when you take the plastic off and result in less heat soak.

no the only thing you will notice is your motor should run a little cooler as the plastic covering liked to retain heat quite a bit.

yup. but after you remove it you'll have the urge to polish your valve cover because its not the prettiest thing from factory lol.

ya the polished valve covers take some work. but if your willing to put in the time you won't regret it. trust me i'm half way done polishing mine and even at this point it looks a million times better.
