SAI and Vibrant Header

SAI and Vibrant Header
What exactly is Secondary Air Injection (apparently end of 2006 and up Cobalts have it)?
I'm asking because I'm interested in the vibrant header + dp combo and TTR mention that it won't fit on Cobalts that have SAI.
Check it out yourself:

If you have SAI you will have a second smaller hose coming out of your air filter box. Your exhaust manifold will be welded steel and look like a header -- and a checkvalve is mounted on top of the exhaust manifold next to the valve cover. If you don't have a second smaller hose coming out of the air filter box and you have a cast iron manifold then you don't have SAI. SAI is only on 2.2s!!!!

I might not have it cuz I installed my GMPP intake on my 2.4 and never saw any hose coming out of there

this my be a little off topic but is there anyone with the SAI take it out and put on a header? and if so what did u use to plug the O2 sensor spot on the new header? since the old header comes with the O2 sensor plugged already...

The SAI can be disabled by the dealer with the same procedures the technician does when they put 16" wheels on an LS. IF you can find a dealer or technician that can disable it you would just have to remove the SAI equipment and replace the exhaust manifold with one without SAI - BUT since it is emissions equipment, finding someone to do this would be very hard.
