i got golden eagle part numbers, and i got the correct arp part numbers... I'd prefer arp. The question really at the point is who can get them here the quickest.

no-one seems to keep these things in stock...

damn, if only i would have seen witt's post a week sooner: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...light=231-4701

lastest update:
ordered new arp head studs... and while i've got the downtime i've decided to replace that ring in #4 that was slightly bent... its been bugging me, but i'd said "**** it" so i could meet this weekend's deadline. With the head stud issue setting everything back i have time. If i dont replace it now it will always be in the back of my head "damn i bet that #4 top-ring isnt holding boost"... so it should be here on Tuesday from wiseco...

so far, i'm over-budget by about $400, and i still need to pick up a few things locally (new battery, plugs, and cherry picker) before next weekend's install. At this rate I'm gunna have to get a job!

Also, the m62 came in today. very sexy.

Head studs came in today, fits perfectly. New ring for #4 should be in tuesday afternoon, and then its all downhill.

I've been flipping back and forth between doing my own porting or spending the money to have someone else do it... anyhow, I have an extra head so i'm going to give it a shot at some mild porting. I've done this before on my old nova and seen my dad do it alot as a kid, so i understand the concepts well, its more of 'lack of patience' that scares me.

I'll have pics of that later.

what RPM were you taking the motor to when the balance shaft broke?

are you installing neutral balance shafts or deleting them all together?

7k redline, i think i was in 2nd or 3rd gear, after the car is running i'll post the pics of the damage on the old engine...

I did the complete delete from zero level. good price, no-brainer for me.

I don't need anything really, I just like to decorate my apartment with car parts, they make pretty good conversation peices

Haha, I've got four high compression pistons from a Honda B-Series, Two powdercoated fuel rails from a Ford Probe GT, a cold air intake from my cobalt (put together but not installed) and a new Magnaflow muffler.

I really wanted to get a head so I could shine it up and use it as a centerpeice on my coffee table
