i made 215whp on a 3.1 pulley and full bolt ons in my 2.2. then went to a 2.8 and never had an issue. its all in the tune man. almost half my motors life has been s/c.

The only way to blow up a LE5 on a M62 is with bad tuning.

My stock LE5 makes 350-380whp right now on 11psi, and I've had it up to 14psi more than a few times with a bit of knock.....still in one piece

In the spring for sure, I'll probably be getting it dyno tuned then. I wanna keep it just shy of 400whp to keep everything sorta safe.

I think the blocks can take a lot more than people give them credit for, there was a guy once who hit 520whp on a stock sleeved 2.2 L61....never blew up. That car had the head ported by the same guy who did mine, and he made that 520whp on only ~15psi....mind you it was a much larger turbo.

Keep the timing low, keep the IAT's down and I think it will be fine.

Its very hard to tell what it makes for power, but with my best 1/8th of 7.8@91, that should be good for a ~11.9@120 in the 1/4.

I've never seen a J-Body run those times that made less than 380whp, and definitely not if it is a full interior, full weight car like mine.

So I think 350-380whp might even be on the conservative side.

Thats what I mean, bad tuning leads to cracking sleeves.

honestly, i regret my decision to get the zzp mid length, i only felt minimal gains. I really wish i had went with the OTTP long tubes in 1.625 primary size. Reason i say that is because this car really didnt need the low end power, it needed a whole lot more top end breathing. Someone had a really nice graphic about the differences in primary tube size vs primary length and why long tubes are better for NA cars IF the primary tube size is right.
