silencer for stock tip?

ok i have a flowmaster 40 series muffler on my car and had them weld the stock tip back on there. now my question is is there a silencer i can put on my car?

the reason i ask is because i have the ZZP midlength combo with a 2.5" catless dp and i deleted the stock resonator and put the flowmaster on. i didn't do much homework only to find out that a open exhaudst on a 4cylinder plus a chambered muffler equals raspyness. i hate the rasp i hear. it almost sounds like the inside of the muffler is vibrating at certain RPMs and it is driving me nuts. at first i thought i needed to wait to break in the muffler which the raspyness did kinda go away but it is still there.

does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? i thought about getting a cat welded in but i heard some videos and the sound is still there.

welcome to the club. quieting these cars down is a mystery so far. i got two thrush turbo mufflers ready to go out (dual exhaust). if that doesnt quiet my car down, i might as well scream. ive tried everything

woah mike your in san antonio? lol i'll be there during spring break. i was hoping of meeting up with tyrone and rico possibly during the week sometime. i was also thinking of PMing joseph because i really want to check out his car, last time i saw it, it was still having a lot of problems with tuning and what not.

and ya tell me about it, i know the 40 series is supposed to be a loud muffler but i kinda figured it would've been deeper and no rasp. silly me lol. i think i may get the Megan muffler. or something. i have to figure something out. because i don't want a stupid fart can either. DAMN U 4 CYL!!!!!

weld a glasspack in where the stock resonator went, trust me.... I originally tried much the same set-up (minus the ZZP) and it sounded like raspy dog ****.... I welded a glasspack as resonator and it sounds sweet with my flowmaster

just cant afford 300+ to tune right now. just got car painted yesterday...blazing orange....

i agree. a 30" glasspack worked wonders for me. takes raspy out. BUT it doesnt last. It does the best of anything so far. I replaced mine with a magnaflow 4" round muffler and I regret it. sounds ridiculous now. going back to a glasspack soon

i dont know what that site is?? when i got me a 30" glasspack installed...it was 75. you can buy em online for next to nothing. (20-30$). its just the cost of welding that can kill.

My exhuast setup = zero rasp (at all rpms), quiet while cruising, and a nice deep throaty sound at WOT.

got mine quieter finally! the two thrush turbos did the job. now i just need to replace the shitty 4" round magnaflow with a glasspack like I had before...and itll sound even better.

The bad thing is now I can here all kinds of other noises in my wheels, and suspension lol. things I couldnt hear cuz my exhaust was so loud. clunking, winding, u name it. ive already replaced all bushings, shocks, struts, tie rods, end links. who knows what it could be now...lol
