me and a buddy just raced a couple of days ago in 59 degree weather and i have an slp catback loudmouth 2 exhaust system, a k&n typhoon air intake, and i had pulstar pulse plugs, and his was stock? and he had me by about 1 and a half car lengths? what in the world is going on? if you know anything that could be wrong please help, im starting to get embarrased :s and do our naturally aspirated cars run better in warmer weather? and what is the cheapest supercharger with decent power gains? thanks everyone, cleary 2.4

it popped on and off a couple times a few months ago during 10 degree weather, my neighbor has a code detector and it was something with injectors, than it popped up again and it was something with the mass air flow sensor?

oem plugs are the best for the car.. another passenger does matter but not a car and a half.. and you have a full tank and he was on low fuel maybe? if so might have gave him a slight advantage but a car and a half is a bit much idk man.. def put oem plugs in

it was the plugs, you'll get a much better result this time. fyi, i usually run on a 1/4 tank for just such occasions and my trunk is bare save for the battery. every oz you shave just makes for a better run. get creative and see how much you can lose. should you get a tune for your setup; his trans will never stand a chance. a good TCM tune on the 4t45e turns it into a whole new animal.

The added person and possibly more gas will matter, but likely not a car and a half..
Get HPT and put the Iridums back in and you'll be golden. I have intake and exhaust too. I like the combo. But supposedly the HPT wakes the car up (especially the auto) very well. I'll see in a few months..
Also, if you don't mind loud, get a header/dp combo. It helped mine out alot, but I pulled it off because it was so damn loud..

For ours, there's HPTuners or Trifecta. Generally, most 2.4's seem to go HPTuners. You CAN buy it yourself, but it's incredibly expensive, and you need to either know how to tune your car or know someone who does. The general idea is to find someone who tunes near where you live and pay them to do it. It'll be between 100-200 to get it done, and most guys do a re-tune if you add more mods for a low price. The guy I'm gonna use is 30 minutes from me, does HPT, costs 200 for the initial tune, then 20 for a re-tune (aside from adding boost). I'm gonna get it done here next month or so probably..

I'd get Trifecta if there was someone local who could do it, but everyone with Trifecta locally won't do a 2.4 or an auto.. The HPTuners guy wants to do the 2.4 auto..
