I raced my cousin and we have the same cars and year model 07 cobalt ss/sc. both stock and I beat him every time by half a car or a car. some cars come out the factory a lil faster or slower than others. but when you get mods you got to get dynos and tunes to make sure you run right or you will end up slower then you were stock lol.

100 lbs could throw you off a car length.

1. Pulse plugs are junk.
2. Your exhaust is too big for the mods you have, especially without a custom tune.

depending on what gear you were in and what rpms, the catback makes you lose powerin the low end rpms and you gain it in the mid to high end. You will see even a greater drop in low end hp if you put on a header and dp. But not let that keep you down. Get a tune and go from like a 30 roll and go to about 70 or 80. You'll have em. But keep in mind though, once you gear up and ur rpms drop, you have less hp than him.

Your problem is your losing too much low end with your exhaust. If you just had intake you would of beat him. But once you get tuned with your mods you'll destroy him. You should also get a header and downpipe before you get the tune.

And the obvious question is, what condition is your engine in? How many miles compared to your buddy's? Is your compression good? Someone else mentioned tires, but what size? Are you both running stock height tires?

both got stock pirelli tires with stock rims, they have the same amount of miles, can anyone help me out with locating a tuner? cuz this is all that i plan on doing to my car, probably no headers or dp, unless i get the extra cash this summer than im gunna get a zzp stage 1 turbo

everything in our cars are exactly the same, besides my aftermarket exhaust and k&n intake, where in michigan from the zip coad 48475 is there a trifecta or hpt tuner? thanks

One last question. The one and a half car lengths were over how much distance?

From your previous posts, it appears the most logical answer is production car tolerances. Your car is an 06, (is your buddy's an 06?) which means it is 4 years old. Any production tolerances would be amplified with that kind of age. A tune would probably help your car. The trick is to find someone competent with 2.4 NA engines. You have the choice of using a local tuner who uses HP Tuners, or going with Trifecta using Vince's experience.
