So...i have the supercharger from a 2.0

i made a trip to a few junkyards today insearch of some things for my balt..namely a set of 18's from a ss/sc and left with a supercharger intercooler and injectors...

..is it possible to attach this to a 2.4 or no? dont rag me or hassle me about "just drop a 2.0 in it"..because thats not what i want..

I would think so but there will probably be a bunch of supporting mods to add on as well.

^^^What Shortbus said, you'll get more out of the car with a turbo. And even if you did get it free, you'll probably spend almost the cost of a turbo kit trying to get the SC stuff fabbed up.

Do you also have the heat exchanger for the intercooler or just the Intake Manifold? If you have the complete intake part, it won't be too bad getting the rest.

I am not sure on the belt part. Your belt route is a tad different. Also, not so sure about sensors. I know the 2.0s have things like the SCIP and a 2.5 bar MAP sensor.

It'll probably be ***** trying to get the supercharger to work properly with your car. I think shortbus could be right, you should try and sell it and get a turbo.

I am also not sure how the PCM would know to interact with the Boost Bypass, unless that is completely mechanical.

Your Windshield washer tank will need to be moved as well to make room for your new intake location.

my rash thinking at first was...ecotec...different sizes..same car...same engine bay..slight differences..how hard could it be...

those are the thoughts that went through my head in the .5 seconds it took me to make up my mind to nap that stuff..maybe i will just get a 2.0 block and do a nice 2.0 build up and add a turbo to a sc2.0 eh eh? idk..just thinking about what i could and couldn't do to set my car off from the rest, and give the rest the world a nice little surprise.

Listen to WSFrazier. The intake manifold and some slight re-routing of the intake, belt, and a reflash. The supercharger is probably the most expensive part. You should be able to convert to S/C for much less than the $4,000 Hahn Turbo kit.

It isnt all that hard to put on your car if you grabbed the SC, Intake Manifold, and heat exchanger. You mount the HE, bolt on the intake manifold, and then find a belt that will fit up towards the SC. Thats going to be the hardest part. You then throw in some 42# injectors and hook up HPTuners. I bet Witt could get that tuned in a day.

You dont need to worry about any sensors that the SS/SC uses. You will tune your fuel and ignition maps based on the AFR. I would recommend starting with either a stock or stg2 pulley. dont go any lower till you get it working well.

Here is the install of the supercharger kit for the 2.2L Cavi. It should be almost identical for your 2.4L except you will have to get a custom tune. Stock injectors might be ok for some very light boost, but you should find some Stage 1-2 (42#) injectors. A rising rate fuel regulator with a return fuel line like Hahn's would be perfect.

EDIT: I forgot to put in the link http://tunersource.gmblogs.com/Racer...250hp.pdf/view

im not really looking to run a ton of boost...mostly because of the auto tranny i have..i was thinking about 4-6 psi...I think i have realistic goals for my 'balt i just wanna go about it a different way (goal 190-220 whp)

That would be about a 4" puilley then if that is all you want, plus that will keep that Eaton very efficient.

That is definately a realistic goal, hell my old 2.4 dyno'd 170whp with just an intake. You toss 4-6 psi at it, you will be past your goal.

Well heres the thing. Your boost is controlled by the size of pulley you run. For 6-8psi your gonna need to run like a 4"+ Pulley. Thats huge. I remember Yellowshowbalt(the guy who put the m62 on his 2.2) couldnt run even the stock 3.3" pulley because it was too big and was causing his belts to hit or something. Watch his videos he says it in there somewhere. If thats the case, then you may also run into that problem. You may not have room for a pulley that large. I can guarantee you that your engine can handle anything that m62 can produce as long as the temps are good. Just make sure you get it tuned really well and you will have no problem in whichever pulley size you go with. You should be able to pull a good 250whp+ out of the 3.0" stage 2 pulley. Just remember your engine flows a lot more then the LSJ, so your PSI wont be the same. The stage 2 pulley may only give you 12psi instead of 15 like it does on the LSJ. But thats not a bad thing at all.

I know on the LSJ, you can bleed of boost in all the gears. If you tell the PCM to bleed boost in 2nd, it actually does it for 2-5. Plus we have 1st gear control as well. Not sure on the 2.4 ECM though, never looked at one.

That being said, if you can bleed the boost like that, then you can run the biggest pulley that will fit and do it that way. Given, you will be spinning the blower faster than needed, but you still should be able to keep it efficient as long as it isn't too small of a pulley.

You can bleed off the boost using a boost controller on the bypass valve and use the stock 3.4" pulley. That should be good for about 6-8 psi.

The trans should be ok if you add a trans cooler. SSfamilywagon added one after he had his TCM tuned. Judging at how aggressive Hahn was with their Auto 2.4, you should be ok, just don't flog it too hard.

There was some one walking around saying they had it done to the HHR, Ludacriss or something...I am sure if you talk to Hann they could help you tune for a price as they did with celica....If you have all the parts for free your probably looking at not too much more getting it in there if you do the work your self. As far as your tranny it should be fine with minimal boost just get a trans cooler.
