Well lots have been wondering what the Magnaflow sounds like on a 2.4L so here it is.

*note* dont turn your volume up too loud haha, speakers might bite *

 

Is that the cat-back or just muffler?

 

full cat back mandrel bent 2.5"... it sounds even a little better than that, i think i had the recorder a little too close to the car

 

sounds nice alot like mine but a little quieter.

 

sounds good... i really like the sound of the solstice cat back..

Yeah i guess its just me but i think that sounds crapy. Sounds like a fart cannon to me.

Why didn't you rev it any higher?

 

nah it doesnt sound like a fart can at all, im using a pretty shitty recorder so its probably the reason but it sounds really sweet, its not loud or over obnoxious at all. its deep, but not loud enough to give u a headache while driving

 

when i rev it too high the recorder freaks out cuz it cant handle it haha. thats why

 

i know this is totally off topic but how hard was it to install the front and rear ss/sc facia? and that exhaust sounds awesome btw... i would still like to hear the borla exhaust i think that they have one out...?

 

i actually only have the front lip on my 2.4, but it was installed professionally by a trusted auto body shop. someone backed into me and i was able to replace the entire front SS/NA facia with the SS/SC. they're infact not the same facia. the SS/SC has tabs specificly made to hold the lip which the SS/NA lack and i doubt that u could really find a way to put the lip on otherwise. and yea im certain borla makes an exhaust for our car

 

i see. i was wondering because i went to my dealership today and that exactly what they said i would have to do (i was hoping differently though) so i have now decided to go with the avs lip kit.

i think you had the camera a little to close because that doesnt sound nothing like mine.

 

i want my cobalt to sound like a subaru.... subaru's have the sexiest exaust tone for imports/4bangers

 

subarus sound the way they do because of the boxer engine. the exhaust wraps around the one side and AFAIK it creates a weird colapsing effect when the two sides collect. i don't know why, but i think it's the same reason that no really powerful subaru ever idles nice.

I just put a magnaflow universal on my 2.4 and it sounds really good. Not too loud and a deep mellow sound. I would definatly recommend it.

 

I love the sound of the 2.4, they sound waaaaay better than the exhaust of the 2.0.
well Minus the supercharger whine of course just the exhaust.

 

That's actually a really good sound clip. The exhaust sounds pretty close to that. Much better than the sound clips on Magnaflow's website.

 

ever get that tip not to touch?

 

just need to get a longer rubber hangers and it should fit fine. I had the problem on mine i actually welded the muffler at an angle so it wouldnt rub in addition to adding the longer hangers

 

I'm gonna work on getting the hangar redone soon... maybe this weekend.
