I have a 2006 victory red one with the same performance mod chevygirl2006. Look at my pictures in my profiles to see what she looks like. I'll post soon newer pics as i have other appearance mods since those pictures.

Im an automatic btw.

I went the turbo route, more power (and more "room to grow") also, i can drive the car like its NA when below 2200-2500 rpm, which is great for fuel economy, (it is my daily). Im not 100% sure, but since a supercharger makes boost throughout the powerband, i would assume it would hinder your fuel economy, as your injectors need to keep raiseing fuel to match the boost. Then again the differnece in price of the kits could be alot of gas

as far as lag goes, i chose the s252 et (smallest turbo zzp has) the entire Bullseye S25X series of turbos are all rated to 650WHP (and you definitly dont want a 650 WHP FWD daily driver)

the car starts to make boost at 2200, 5 psi @ 2800 and 10 psi by 3200, and even if i go half thottle it spools to pretty much instantly. In 5th on the highway at 100km/60mph i can drop it into 3rd and be in boost instantly.

Since your an auto, a supercharger could make alot more practical sense (since you cant readily downshift) with your current mods, it probably doesnt take much throttle to get you to 3000 rpm. so your "lag" will be the auto trans (instead of downshifting) not the turbo

I have read other users on CSS.net having to do work on the auto when going turbo, i think there is a 2 versions of the tranny, a heavy duty one and a light duty one. prolly should research that before deciding the buy the kit. 5 speeds just need an upgraded clutch to handle the power.

I kind of want to put together a half review/demo video of the zzp 2.4 turbo kit. Every summer people allways ask the same questions lol (same ones i had) prolly would help out alot of folks

Actually no the sc isn't always in boost. It's the same as driving a na depending on how much throttle you give it. My car will shift at like 2.5-3k rpms and the whole time it won't go into boost. Throttle that you give it determines if you boost or not but I usually stay in vacuum or 0 psi lol.

Just throwing it out there but an auto can downshift. We have L and I. On L it isn't 1st and 2nd gear. I usually go into L at like 20 mph or so to be in 1st gear at like 3some rpms if I'm going to do a roll.

I go into I at like 35-40 and it puts me into 2nd gear when imma do 40 rolls.

I haven't tried a 60 roll cuz well I'm an auto lol but I'm sure if you put it into I at 60 it'll go into 3rd gear.

Going supercharged is a great idea for those looking to make fast and easy power withiut having to spend a lot more without looking to do an all out build. Turbo will make more power but some people arent looking for a huge amount of power. They just want a fun daily driver thats easy to maintain. Thats my case until later on lol.

thanks for clearing that up for me i have never owned an auto car before rofl, and have never driven a SC car, like i wrote, i wasnt 100% Certain. I allways assumed sc gave boost throughout the entire powerband, being crankshaft powered and whatnot

I wanted to get a 4Dr sedan SS/TC mod the fu*k out of it making it look totally like a base LT as much as possible so people would see it a think POS Cobalt then totally destroy them when I would pull bus lengths on them.

i love sleepers, my car doesnt run on gas, it runs on the tears of v8 owners.

i've debadged all my exterior SS badges, doors and trunk. it just says "Cobalt" on the back now lol.

i totally plan on running 15 inch winter steelies with some fat/wide tires in our oversized fenders

****, i bet i could pick up random body pannels from wrecked cobalts and just swap them out.

nothing screams pile of **** more than coloured mis-matched body pannels and winter steelies!

i was even toying with the idea of moving my exhaust (3 inch zzp) a foot back under the car so its hidden, and then putting a fake 1.5 inch pipe from a ls/lt back there on the last hanger.

I love my car too much to make it look like dump lol. People already don't respect cobalts as it is. If it was another car or if I didn't like how my car looks I'd do it lol. That exhaust idea is pretty good...

Another variable to consider is, where do you drive the car mostly ? City or highway? If you live and commute in the city, a super charger will be a better value. If you commute on a highway or live in a rural area, turbo will get more use

I would definitely do that but I already get enough **** for driving a cobalt.

totally thinking about skimming a bit off my zzp girdled block fund to get one of these guys,

rumour has it that they are working on a boost activated/rpm control module. Think i might wait until then, to get it to talk happly with ECM/HPT

One of those guys, foot back and hidden with last hangar LS/LT 1.5 inch for epic sleeper troll

Me and the girlfriend have a theoy on car culture evolution, that the whole modding car thing got big right after the war, when airplane techs made its way into hot rods of the 50s.

The whole flashy/loud car (no matter what car culture) has been overdone for the last 60+ years.

The last few times i've been at car meetups/events/shows; girls love my car more than the flashy tuners/muscle, most guys dont really notice my car, they're all around each others done up rides, rims, lights, spoilers, paint, decals etc.

The Ms. brought it up, when she got all jeleaous/defensive when noticed more guys than girls were interested in the sleeper.

even one of my daily trolls, a riced out civic, was tailgating me in a single lane, and when he tried to pass (as it opened up to a double) i did my usual sleeper troll. and when i check my rearview his passenger was laughing so hard (couldn't make out the drivers face) and when they came abreast of me, the passenger was a grinning 20ish girl who gave me a wave :P

tellin ya man, flashy cars are overdone and not interseting

VIVA THE SLEEPER REVOLUTION!!!!!

for sure!! i need to reverse paralel park up a hill for my parents driveway, in a manual. so the 3am stealthly parking is basically ******* pointless!

when the butterfly valve is closed, the exhaust gases zig-zag through baffling, so its not like you have a huge back pressure problem. before i click "add to cart" im definitly figuring out if i want to tune the car with the valve closed, or open. That or i might send the guys an email, and see if we can figure out the best way to have the valve open in relation to boost/rpm/hpt tuners.

the sleepr in me, must have maxmimum preformance, with most ammount of troll. so i would prolly need to talk with their engineers/math crunchers to get their control module to play perfectly with HPT.

be ******* WIN! , if it was whisper quiet when im below 2200rpm preparing for the sleeper trollin, then when the muscle car/tuner/euro-luxury guys try and blow past me in the left, step on it, go WOT and and just hear the turbo spooling/boost "SHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" loud as hell, then the super loud wastegate dump "PSSSHISSSHH" (i dump to exhaust not atmosphere) then car goes back to whisper quiet again when i let off.

many LULZ and **** eating grins could be had mehthinks!

my clearly aftermarket 3 inch exhaust, is really hurting the cars sleeper image its been bugging the crap out of me lately. So i have been thinking of my next exhaust budget alot.

but.... the $5000 zzp block tempts me more damn you expensive car hobby!!!!

all you need to know is that im crazy canadian sleeper enthusiast. I hate (not dislike, h-a-t-e) fast and the furious/tuner/boy racer/ricer car culture. I strive to be the exact oposite of it. I bought a 2.4 SS because it was the fastest car i could own, not the fastest car i could afford the monthly payments for.

If it doesnt. make my car do 80-200 km faster, i dont click "add to cart"

If it makes my car look/sound like a slow piece of ****, i'll will click "add to cart"

When i meet up with my "kills" in a parking lot:

If it makes the middle-upper class white guy in the euro luxury say
"What the **** is in that thing?" I'll click "add to cart"

If it makes the mid life crises/divorce guy feel depressed and sad about his lack of testosterone
I'll click "add to cart"

If it makes the alpha male black guy, who could pound the **** out of me in a fight say
".....****......motha....fucken.....sleepa.... .." after i repeatedly destory his vtec civic i click "add to cart"

also, i typically post on our forums when im very drunk/very sleep deprived. seldom sober/sane :p

can't stand guys who obsess about the car industry/brands. I personally obsess about the tech/physics of engine, could care less if my car doesnt have the SS badge on the exterior. I love to be underestimated, and i love to troll :P

im also crazy enough to spend $300 on a 2.4 LE5 with 300,000 KM, to use as a decoration in my living room. (seriously gonna do this before august)

so yes Mr. Avalanche687 sir; i understand. I am crazy and confusing + + + + a big ol **** eatin' grin

This went from talking about sedans to nothing but boost. I think there's plenty of info out there on it.
I got a 06 SS sedan. Mines a 5 speed which I think seems to be more uncommon than the autos but I could be wrong.
