stock injector replacement require a reflash?
According to the TSB for my cobalt and the 1174 code Ive been getting since October, I should have an injector flush done as a first step. IMO a "flush" is a mere joke and a ploy to have GM make a great deal of money off of me without even a guarantee of fix. Besides for the 200 bucks they want to charge I can buy ACDelco replacement fuel injectors for half the cost.
I want to purchase new injectors that are stock replacements and install them. I cant find any info after searching for almost two hours in the internet whether or not I need to reprogram the ECM. Im not upgrading or installing bigger injectors. I dont see the need, however if GM does have an new update for the car (2006 2.4L cobalt) then it might not be such a bad idea.
Thanks

Not 100% positive that is an injector problem, could also be O2 sensor, maf, map, or vac leak. But if your confident it's the injectors you can replace them without tuning as stock injectors would have all the same characteristics/settings as your current ones. I would suggest buying used injectors from another LE5 because a different company could have different injector dynamics. The LE5's used two different style injectors, some are blue some and some grey just make sure you get the same color and your set.

I had an issue with my injectors a few years ago. Took it to the dealership with the TSB and explained everything. 2 hours later they called and said it's not even worth doing a flush and would just replace them. On the form afterwards, it did say something about a reflash, so I assume it probably does need it. Or who knows, maybe just resetting the computer and let it relearn it maybe?

Yes kind of like this. GM likes to reset their computers after basically any service because if that happens to actually fix the car rather then the "hardware" service they still technically did their job. Sometimes they upload a factory "updated" version of the tune with something completely unrelated changed the smallest amount. They aren't actually changing anything important (injector settings) in the tune though, so you can do the injectors yourself and drive the car just fine.

Thats the thing, nobody has any idea what this could be 100%. Ive been researching this code since October, with little to no help. The best advice I was given was from a buddy printing out the TSB and giving it to me.
I bought one injector. I will replace # 1. If this solves the problem then great, if the issue comes back then I will take the injector pulled from #1 and place it in #2. So on and so forth until it either fixes the issue or I get to the point where the fourth injector is replaced and still getting the code. This way Im out 30 bucks for one injector. If it solves the issue then I know which injector was causing the problem.
