So one of the guys in the club had a accident and his car is totaled. I plan on getting a lot of his stuff.
Now I'm wondering about cutting the rib of the belt to fit the altenator. Is it safe? Or should I pick up that from him as well.
And also cooling mods. He's got a stage 3 heat excanger, option B, dual pass. Should I get those as well. I've been told that you can never have enough colling mods. But that's been by the LSJ guys. I only plan on running a 3.1 pully for now.

Ok kevin. I should also buy your stage 3 heat exchanger and run both.

On the 2.2 motor, all the pulleys are 5 rib. If you want to use a 6 rib belt, you must swap to an LSJ alternator, ac compressor, and crankshaft pulley. It is a lot easier and PERFECLTY fine to trim a rib off of the belt.

The way I did it was to hold the belt on the floor (with something soft underneath it) and made the initial cut INTO the belt, and then had a buddyy hold the razor blade in place as I used two hands to pull the belt through the sharp blade.

I went with the 6 rib. U might wanna talk to trent idk if he would wanna cut the rib off he doesnt like doing stuff like that... The chances of something going wrong may go up... who knows many people here have cut off a rib and done it and idk if it messes up later on as for me no problem with the belt and that. Cooling mods just with a stage3 intercooler ur good. Im on a 2.9 and its fine. But more cooling is always better haha.
