t/c light on and transmisson shifting hard?

Okay, so my traction control light comes on almost everytime i start my car. When i start driving my car hard shifts really hard into gears(i have a auto)...then the traction control light will turn off and my car will stop shifting funny. While all this happens my engine light sometimes comes on and will stay on even after the traction control light turns off. I dont know what the hell is going on because i would think that the traction control light being on and my transmission shifting funny are two different things. So why would my transmission shift funny just b.c the t/c light just turns on?

mine did the same but then I got a tune and it doesn't shift hard. Only thing it does is the tc and abs lights are on. Dealer could never figure it out.

check your maf sensor, surprisingly enough, it can cause the TC light to come on and make the trans shift extremely rough if its just the slightest unplugged.

There are two phillips head screws that you need to unscrew near the Air filter box.

Pull the MAF out and if it looks dirty clean it with some mass airflow sesor cleaner.

Put it back in and tighten the screws down, Doesnt need to be torqued to hulk levels. Just

a firm tightening would be fine.

I have an auto too and its done that in the past. There is a Trasmission control module

that is causing the light to come on and the transmission to shift hard. Whats happening is

that the line pressure is increasing and causing that super firm shift. ( I am basing this off

of the BnM Shift kit that is available for our cars)

Hey just to let you know, my 06 was doing the something. Turned out to be the cam position sensors on the intake and exaust. A lot of people had the same problem.

this is what it looks like

You should buy a repair manual for the car. The information is in it and they arent expensive.

yeah same thing was happening to me. Replaced intake solenoid and it wouldnt turn on randomly anymore but it would turn on when i would step on it from idle. It stopped doing it after I put my sc kit on but before putting it on I found out it was my map sensor that was causing my car to do this.

I had your exact issue a few years ago. No CEL. I took it to the dealer and had it fixed. It pissed me off because it wasn't throwing a code. Take it to the dealer. $100 fix imo.

I had the same problem, dealer fixed for 100 cause that was the copay on my third-party warranty. tc and abs light + hard shifting was, if I recall correctly, the speed sensor. The wheel hub assembly was also replaced for a tc/abs issue but that was with the symptom of my brakes pumping when they shouldnt.

The speed sensor didnt throw a code either.

Your symptoms is called a "limp mode". Anything can cause that. Odds are its a sensor. Get it diagnosed at a dealer. Otherwise get the code read and change out the sensor yourself. I'm giving you an educated guess.

The sensor on the top of your engine is the MAP sensor. I also have this problem and I am going to replace my vehicle speed sensor and my MAP snesor after that if does not fix it.

Sorry I have been out of town. ok on top of your valve cover on the passenger side is two sensors. On the cover itself will say int by one and ext by the other. they are held in with a 10mm bolt. each sensor was $35 and both were changed out in 10 mins. Just be sure to have a rag ready cause the sensors are down it the oil. Hope this helps.
