Question Trifecta?

What does everyone think about Trifecta for the 2.4's? Who has it done? Whose benefited from it? Any info would be great. I'm guna order my tune from Clear Image Auto today, when ever they call me. Anybody?? Thanks..

I have an auto with the Trifecta tune and it really unleased a nice amount of power. The tranny shifts faster and harder. PE delay was deleted and improved gas mileage when driving normal. I probably gained between 10-15 hp, but I need a dyno to find out.

I did it on my 2.4l. The car feels like it gained a bit more power but truth be told I really didn't notice any change with the pe delay and I asked for a gain on my redline to 7000rpm but my car still shifts between 6800 and 6900 at WOT, not sure why. Also I'm an auto so I asked to improve my tranny and although it was firmed up and shifts stronger now at WOT, I would only use it on the track as it is just to harsh for normal everyday driving. I'd say they are a good choice for us 08 2.4's who want a tune where we have very little options but if HP ever unlocked our ecm I'd switch over in a heartbeat.

How does your car reach 6900 at WOT? I'm an auto too and when I floor it the rpm shoots to only 3k. The farthest it ever reached was 4k.

Just got off the phone with Vince of Trifecta. Ordered my tune from him and he went over everything with me. He really is a great guy, he saved me some money too. The base tune should be here Saturday or at latest, Monday. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I'm sure Dunkinuts will be interested as he always is with 2.4 stuff.

I would/should talk to vince. I would rather tune myself but I would love to see what all he is tuning and what true before and after tune power/speed is.

Dunkinuts, when I get the base tune I will show you the data logs and my opinions. The awsome thing about trifecta is that you get 2,3 or 4 tunes, what ever it takes to get the tune perfect.

So this is what I am doing.
1. Vince e-mails me my first tune (base tune to start with providing the mods I gave him)
2. He ships a USB cable that goes from the OBD2 Port to my laptop.
3. Upload tune into car.
4. Data log the car and e-mail some of the data logs recorded back to Vince at Trifecta.
5. Vince looks at the tune and determines what needs to be fixed and e-mails you another tune.
6. Once the Tune is perfect, send the USB OBD2 cable back to Trifecta.
7. Enjoy the tune!

I cant wait till I get my base map and data log the car. I'll post up some videos of the data logs and my opinion on the tune.

I'm not sure what to say on that one. Even before my car was tuned I was able to reach the 5k's when I planted my foot and it ran through the gears. It would redline at around 6500 or 6600 before the tune and now I'm around 6900. I've heard some people have issues with their auto not going higher then 4k or 5k but I find that weird. An auto should still hit a pre-programmed shift point which should be close to the peak rpm level before the tcm shifts gears into the next one, hence why an auto is good for turbo boost in a straight line do to the limited rpm drop off between gears and little lost boost. Either way I'm not sure what to say unless I were to ride in you're car or see a video of it shifting.

your talking about revving the car in nuetral. Thats irrelevant.

The OP was talking about what rpm the car changes gears at. Ones important, the other is not.

No...when the car is in gear it reaches abouf 3k max. It does not go any higher...maybe 3500 at WOT if lucky. It has been doing this since I bought the car brand new. I figured that the autos can only reach about 3k due to the governer while in gear so I never worried about it...but that is not the case.

I'm taking my car back to the dealer next week to get it checked. I have to remove the tune first before I do.

WHAT???? Really??? Theres no governor in gear until top speed. There's a rev limiter...its at 6850 rpm on the 5 speed 2.4L cars. My auto shifts @6500rpm.

I just can't fathom how you drove it for...how long? Your car has never made max HP then.....very, very strange. Let us know what happens.

LOL...I know and I'm very pissed about it. The car is a little over one year old and the whole time it needed to have warranty work. Hopefully it's a easy fix.

Have you heard of anything like this?

Does anyone have this tune on a manual? I am thinking about doing this on my stock 06 2.4 but not sure if it will be worth it. the only posts I have seen are on automatics.

I'm a 5 speed 2.4 w/ full bolt ons (look in sig) just got the tune via e-mail from Vince. I'm guna install the software and download the tune now and then plug in the OBD2 cable from the port to my laptop and do some data logs. I'll let you know how things go w/ some videos and ****. I'll post the results later tonight. Talk to every one soon, wish me luck!!

What kind of power can you expect. If you tune it bone stock, will it help? I plan on doing header, downpipe and exhaust, intake but it will be a while. My car seems to really wake up at about 4k rpm, I wish it would have a little lower grunt.
