Trifecta?

"My car seems to really wake up at about 4k rpm, I wish it would have a little lower grunt" This is called power enrichment delay. So basically its supposed to improved fuel economy by limiting your rpms and engine power until 4k rpm. Then after 4k rpm you get this burst of power, but before that it lags. The trifecta tune elminates pe delay completely so you get full power off the line and no lag.

Theres actually more then just the pe that needs to be fixed to make better low end torque. You should really look at the fueling, vvt tables, and the timing table. They are some really messed up looking stock tables.

Those are the tables for the vvt on the 2.4. That just shows you how much advance or retard the cams get at curtain rpm and manifold pressure. I actually tuned a na 2.4 that said he ran his friends gt mustang "don't have much more detail on the mustang" and he said he lost by like two cars to him so not really sure how good or bad that really is. There was definitly a really nice gain from the stock tune to his modified tune. The mods on the 2.4 was gmpp header back exhaust and I think a cold air intake. The 2.4 was standard also just to let you know. Do you know anyone that has hp tuners in your area that might let you use it?

If you don't have any other choice use them, but be warned vince does not always get back very fast on the retunes. We have one g5 2.2 that has been trying to get his tune fixed since aug. Just to let you know.

No...when the car is in gear it reaches abouf 3k max. It does not go any higher...maybe 3500 at WOT if lucky. It has been doing this since I bought the car brand new. I figured that the autos can only reach about 3k due to the governer while in gear so I never worried about it...but that is not the case.
I'm taking my car back to the dealer next week to get it checked. I have to remove the tune first before I do.

On the plus side, you'll be amazed at the newfound power, it will be like a totally different car

Definitely a factory defect!! On just about any automatic equipped car the PCM/TCM should command the transmission into the next gear at or slightly before redline. Yours is not even getting halfway there!!
