Alright, i've decided to go turbo this summer. Enough teasing from all the 2.4 turbo on this forum (esp Red2.4SS )

I want opinion from all you guys with turbo, which kit should i go for? hahn or alpine? what problems will i run into or watch out for? how is ur system holding up (please be honest )

this project wont start in june the earliest, but i'm pretty sure its what i want . thanks for the help guys!

I have been talking to red2.4 and we seem to agree on the garret GT tuner kit for 3200$ then all you need is injectors and custom tuning,

that would be the route I take... but I sorta got a supercharger and intake mani sitting here...

Better you than me........lol

I cant even afford to correct my camber and get a decent tune......sucks.

But hopefully by next year i'll be promoted pretty well in my job and im gonna either sell my car and get an '06-'08 Eclipse GT and supercharge it with a Ripps Modd stage 2 supercharger kit (good for 430whp with a full exhaust and the Ripps black box tuning) OR pay off the 'balt and do a full JBP all motor build. Only time will tell.

Good luck!

nothing, lol. the hahn kit jstu adds tuning a boost fueler and injectors for almost 1000 more...

220whp is easy easy to achive, 8 psi netted hahn 240whp I do belive, so you might be able to get away with 5 psi with exhaust and a good tune

i'm probably gonna keep my exhaust stock...is it possible to boost the garrett kit to 8psi? (or boost controller required)

what's wrong with that tune? not aggressive enough?

yes, 8psi is the stock level, but it is fully adjsutable, via bosot ocntroller is my guess. but also you can use the wastegate can to adjsut the boost

no it doesn't run that great, it was not tuned in a very good manor IMO and my tuners opinion. I had nothing but problems with it. Now that I have a fully custom tune it runs perfect!

Mine runs at 10psi, it came that way when I installed it so that is what I left it at!

ahh that's good to know, so in that case i'll be better off with garrett and custom tune then. how long does a modest tune take usually? i just want it to be drivable with decent power....dont want to run it to the max

how long did it take you to install the kit red?

Well using the garrett kit it comes with a very nicely sized turbo for this engine. It spools quickly yet has lots of usable power in the RPM range of the engine.

You really cant tune it down much from that other than lowering the boost, but then what is the point?

Since I already did the Pioneering with Vince it should only take an hour or two to dial in for your car. At least that is what I would think.

It took me pretty much the entire weekend to install the kit.

Not bad at all.

Your cylinder walls may wear slightly faster than stock due to the higher pressures.

Just change to oil every 3k miles /5k kms. and you will be OK.
