Sofar the car is running pretty good with the turbo. Significant increase in power. Later I would like forged pistons so I can turn up the boost to 10psi.
I think I need some colder plugs and maybe and air to air intercooler in addition to the water/methanol injection, because if I punch it for more than a few seconds it goes into "Power Reduction Mode." Also have a check engine light, think its the rear O2 as it wasn't plugged in when I first started it up. Will be getting that checked this week.

I've got about $3400 into it sofar. That includes gauges, custom downpipe and PCM programing. Still have more fine tuning to do. Probably another $400 to install air to air intercooler. Need to find a local shop to do scan my PCM to see why I am detonating at full throttle.

Yeah, thats who I had do the tune. Got a Canned Tune that they did on a Soltice, but it doesn't seem to be working right. My setup is apparently different enough that it will not work as is. I keep going into power reduction mode under power and it seems to be getting worse, spark plugs look ok though. Will have to check into it more today.

I have the 5spd manual so the only update I should need there is a better cluch once this ones gone.
As for my engine I had water pushing past the pistons from the water injection. Hope it didn't damage the engine. Though I might have blown a head gasket at first. All seems well so far.
Will be adding an air to air intercooler soon.

yeah I"m curious about hp numbers also, only because my bud has a turbo shop and he said without swapping much out and because of the 2.4 high compression ratio I could boost 6psi withabout 230 to 240 hp but he also said if I brought down the compression ratio and did some swaps(more money) I could get 10"s out of it?

Automatics have torque converters
Manuals use flywheels

My question to snowred is, if you're intercooled...are you running a same side intercooler (enters and exits on the same side of the intercooler)?

As far as the whole 6 psi thing...6 PSI on what turbo? 6 PSI doesn't give the same power output on every turbo.
High Compression isn't all bad to be scared about and I think that's what alot of people get their panties in a bunch about. With the right set ignition timing, you could run 11:1 compression and turbo a car with pump gas. If you don't retard your ignition timing, the higher the PSI you run, the higher octane you will need. The reason for higher octane is for preventing detonation.

Your water injection should only spray a very small amount of liquid and shouldn't make a difference. I would try running Water/meth injection which should help with your detination. I couldn't imagine the water injection is putting enough in to actually be able to see that its getting past the rings.

Well, due to lack of tuning availablility in my area I am removing the TURBO and going back to stock. If someone living closer to Detroit (where Vector Motorsports can tune their car) and is interested in a nearly complete lightly used turbo setup send me a PM. Selling for cheap.
