Waste of time. Go turbo if you're gonna spend that much. Much greater power potential, more efficent, just better overall.

Definitely not. Obviously you don't know anything about my car. And yes, it did and will still beat 50trim srt4s, easily. Waste of gas.

Did you even see the vids? I don't think you did or else you wouldn't be talking so much ****. Hell, I thought you would be on my side of this. I found it pretty impressive that I beat up on his car like that. I fully expected for him to edge me out by a car or 2.

This time around my car will make quite a bit more power, still on the stock blower.

Im not hating on your car one bit or takng an neons side. Im just saying I seen what an real 50trim srt4 with all the supporting mods can do and how much hp they put out compared to an sc cobalt. I seen the video also and seen you beat on the srt.

Just saying that jon's srt is pretty weak for being an 50trim srt4 and his friends black 50trim is also weak too. Im glad you beat his car to show them that not all cobalt's are "slobalts". Im just saying this from an real tuned 50trim Srt4 that I seen can do

Also what is being done to the cobalt to make more power?

That's totaly true about 50 trim cars that don't have the proper supporting mods to take advantage of it...they get pretty quick when they have the proper stuff..the ones that I've seen at the track on drag tires run in the high 11's and 12 flat range....
Ralliartist....what kind of MPH do you trap?
I keep seeing everyone lean towards turbos but the TVS seems like it has yet to prove itself on a motor that has the displacement, and bottom end to REALLY show what it can do....if that blower can make almost 400whp on a built LE5 on pump gas with 4k rpms of SERIOUS torque...it would walk all over the same car with a big ole turbo on it....it would be using more rpms of 300+ foot pounds of torque....that's why there are TVS LSJ cars that hang from a roll with cars that they SHOULDN'T be able to hang with on paper....anyone know what I'm talking about or experienced that phenomenon first hand?

That 50 trim is big in the SRT world too...I've seen it before at the track on a few quick ones....they have a boost friendy compression and a good bottom end in them...one of the things that I remember reading about was that ony the 06 cars had the same rods as the Kappa cars....the 07 and 08 cars are different rod material...those kappa cars had the crap beaten outa them with that 06 style bottom end....do you know of anyone who's got a big turbo'd LE5 car with an aftermarket bottom end in it yet, or is it just the kappa guys for now?

yea and that 109 was on stock plugs and 2.5" exhaust with no mounts just bushings lol...

i have full 3" now and 1 step colder plugs. i hope to be getting drag radials soon as well.

tvs IS a good option just expensive. to get one u need an m62 setup on the car and properly running.. THEN u get the tvs for 2k.. for 1300 i got my entire turbo kit off of here and the turbo it had was a lightly used gt3076 that i killed awhile back lol.(long story)
so ur lookin at maybe 1500 for an m62 setup, then 2k for a tvs.. if ur 5 spd u can turbo AND have a new clutch for less than that.. (wut i did)

^^ if you're careful and shop around, you can do much better than 3500. I'm at 2700 for everything to get the s/c kit running except a heat exchanger. So i'll probably be at 2800 or so when it's all said and done. That includes the TVS.

You still have a better deal with your used turbo kit, but don't discount that there are a lot of used TVS popping up, as well as complete s/c hardware from LSJ's that go turbo.

I didn't say it was bad. Just a beginners turbo. I'm sure you have already seen that there are plenty of turbo's out there that outflow it as well as spool quicker.

It seems for some reason it's the turbo everyone starts with.

Maxim...In yer sig yer car makes 412whp, and yer selling a 12 second cobalt...are both of those the same car? If it is...how deep into the 12's is that car? What kinda trap speeds and 60ft times do you run with it?

A friend of mine has a TVS supercharged LE5 that I tuned for him. 3.1 pulley + cooling mods and the tune is not very aggressive... AFR is around 11.7 and WOT timing is between 15-17 degrees. Just dynod 267 about 30 seconds ago.
