Vector Tune - Adjustable A/F Ratio ?

Vector Tune - Adjustable A/F Ratio ?
I have the Vector Motorsports tune on my car and just installed the Rebel 3'' CAI.
I'd like to adjust the A/F ratio for it to be optimal with this new intake since it's now very lean at low RPM's.
Has anyone tried this before? Chris at VMS told me he would need my car in order to do this... no thanks it's 8 hours away from here.
The VMS tune is "locked" so that no one can play in it... but I'm wondering if it's possible just to play with the A/F ratio even with this tune.
Basically... am I stuck with this ratio now that my ECM has been tuned by VMS, or can it still be adjusted?

The vector tune is locked. So the only way to adjust it is to send it back. There is a guy here in Orlando that has the vector tune. When I loged it the fuel trims where all over the place. They just send you a can tune one size fits all. I logged his car and he sent the ECM back for a reflash with the logs and the kinda fixed it. But still is off and not running as good as it could, but the tranny tune was really nice. Sorry but you are stuck where you are at, unless you send it back.

cool i'll send it back
can you hook me up with the steps of what I need to do?
What logs / details would they need? I'm not a tuner btw, so I might not understand all that you'll be saying (make it clear plz)

I'm glad I held off and went the route of HP Tuners. It took a while to find a competent tuner, but in the end I had one of the best LE5 tuners out there take a crack at my car and it worked wonders.

I still want to meet up with him, he was down here in Orlando a few months ago but I was busy with work and could not meet up with him.

When I say log the car, I have HP Tuners and I was riding around in his car logging it seeing what it was doing and where improvments can be made. After the fact I just emailed him the logs with my config file and had him send those to the guys at Vactor so they could see where the adjustments needed to be made, such as adding timer or leaning the car out. Because they never see your car, all they do is send out a generic "TUNE" to try and make it as safe as possable but still adding some power.
Dont let Joe read that post he'll call you full of ****

Wow, so that means I need to find a guy with HPTuners here in Montreal, that will accept to drive around in my car to monitor my A/F ratio......... challenge!
What did you monitor the A/F ratio with? Cause you say log, what did you log it with, HP Tuners?
I don't have a wideband sensor. I'm actually considering getting one, do you think that "logging" would be even better with a wideband sensor?

how much did you charge the guy to do all this? (including the before and after, since you said it was better but not perfedct after)

thanks a lot for your help, I'm sure with time and effort I'll manage to get this done
i'll keep you guys posted

Reading some of your posts is like following a bull through a field. Watch out for the.... !!

Chris at VMS doesn't want to do it...... he says he needs my car absolutely
It will cost me about $200 in gas just to get there................
When you got the logs done for the guy, VMS accepted to fix the tune right away?
(can you tell me the guy's username on the forums?)
Okay I have been doing some reading on the web and here’s the possible solution I found:
Some other guys seem to have been running into the same CEL code after installing an intake: the A/F ratio is too lean.
The LE5 injectors, when stock, are almost maxed out right? My car detects more air; as a result, it tries to compensate by injecting more gas.... but the problem is that injectors are maxed out. Result = lean A/F ratio.
So I am thinking that by putting LSJ injectors in there I could probably solve the issue, and even gain more power in the RPM band where my ratio is lean since my ratio would be able to reach richer values.
This is a complete guess, I am just trying to make sense out of all this here. What do you guys think?

the vector tune is great, its just that you can't play in it....

bump for the injector solution

LSJ injectors are not needed. If they adjusted the tables right it brings the IDC's right down.
In regaurds to who it was, I think it was either a vectore pretty sure it was or a tune from Tune time. I forgot his screen name he has not posted in a while I look when I get home to see if I can find it.

I found a local guy here with HPTuners that will make my logs...
We'll try to get as much data as possible and then I'll try to convince Chris at VMS to adjust my MAF.
If I pay I don't know why he wouldn't do it.
But still, try to get me the guys nickname so I can contact him

haven't been on the forums in a while, but to answer questions it wasn't vector it was a tune time tune. They will tweak it as many times as I want and they don't charge me a cent. I just have to cover the shipping. Sorry.
