MAF doesnt work the same as the VE. VE is MAP based and has, as over-stated and under-understood, 5d-blahblahblahblahblah. Maf of course only has one axis, manifold hz. The only "odd" part of our Maf is the use of high and low tables.

Not sure what you mean by "midpoint", but the ECU uses both MAP and MAF to calculate AFR, and ranges for learn... you dont need a 5d MAF if MAP is doing that calculation for you.

i dont believe it engages per say, it maybe that the cams are loped so that at that rpm its at its more powerful.. very much like our 3500-4000 area where people say "vvt kicks in", its more that the cams feel better in this area. the butt-dyno maybe wrong here..

nope, nevermind. I'm wrong: http://www.asashop.org/autoinc/jan2005/techtips.htm

Yeah...I was reading what I posted.....I think that I had my head in my ass that day - you are exactly correct about MAF using MAP to adjust.

Going to the track tomorrow afternoon. illmatic3s and I have some tunes I want to try out.

I'm going to start out with stock tune. w/ my full bolt ons.

Last summer my car ran a 15.99 stock @ 84mph
THIS IS AUTOMATIC
This year I have wider tires;
InjenCAI, Header, DP, HI-FLO Cat, Borla Exhaust and our tunes. I'm tearing out spare tire and all my tools are coming out for tomorrow, i should be around 1/4 tank of gas by the time i get to the track. It will be 65 degrees Sunny tomorrow is what is forecasted.
I'll log the runs and hopefully rig up my camera to record in car.
Wish me luck... if Im still in the 15s i'm going to be very upset. I hope to crack into high 14s.

Just got home form Pittsburgh Raceway park

track conditions were not so good. Strong headwind blowing at me, very strong gusts.
But an increase over last year with the stock setup

reaction.63 best:.0753
60ft 2.30 best: 2.29
330ft 6.49 best: 6.49
1/8 9.92 best: 9.92
1/8mph 72.25 best:72.25
1000ET 12.95 best:12.95
1/4 15.54 best: 15.54
1/4mph 87.74

My tunes I could not get the car to shift @ WOT, I tried 3 different ones... this was my 1st run and I hit rev limit twice on this run. 1st to 2nd then 2nd to 3rd. I feel that once this gets taken care of I should be getting close to the 15.0 second mark, as these rev limited bounces really hurt me at the end. I also maxed IDC once again.

Looks like illmatic3s and I have some more homework to do.

The tune REALLY helps the autos. Me and him raced down the highway one night and I could bearly pull away. He has the same bolt on's as me and the auto tune.
