I have a black ss and i use Mr clean to wash it and i use Zymol waxes/polishes.
First I clean it well and when you clean it make shure that you are using either microfiber or organic cotton. The i use a Zymol Cleaner wax and the finish off with Zymol carbon carnuba wax u can get them here.http://www.calcarcover.com/product_list.aspx?cid=110if i have some deep scratches i will use a 3m rubbing compound its somwhat harsh but it will get out deep scratches. hope that helps

i just polished mine today

steps:
wash car and get the crud off
dry car
apply polish
you can whipe off polish with something as little as a soft shirt

presto you are done

**i also used the polish on the windows and all the water marks are gone... plus the window more looks like a mirror now lol

Wash, Dry, Pure Polish, Wax.

If it's garaged during the evenings then clay it once a year, and polish+wax every 90 days.

If it's out all day and night, Polish/wax once a month (with some quick wax/details in between) and clay it two or three times a year as needed.

Only consider using a cleaner polish after the first year of ownership. The paint is so thin, you might just rub it all off. :P

Meguiars, Zaino's (Mustang guys use Zaino's a lot, but it takes all day to do.) Or Mothers. it's all good.

Zaino's is a bit different in that you can apply several coats of wax to your car, and each coat adds more shine to it. For a really deep wet look and shine, 3-5 coats of Zaino's should do it.

And remember polishing and waxing are usually two different things. A polish conditions your paint, and a wax seals it.

Spade,

You will get some very small barely percevible lines w/ real wax.

Here is a link for a DIY car detailing. I do this about once a year w/ my cars. Heads up - be VERY careful with the detailing clay - it is easy to scratch your finish - you want a very, very light touch with the clay (Pinnacle or other), and use only on a wet surface.

Just ordered a bundle package of all kinds of mother's detailing stuff, from all 3 steps of the wax, to the clay bar kit, even some wheel and tire cleaners, chrome polish, everything. Can't wait to get home to the states, and drink some beer out in the driveway and wash the hell out of my baby!

Fellas fellas fellas, ive gotta say that i am very impressed with Turtle Wax's new Ice. Its a clear wax that you can use on just about everything on the outside of your car. IT WONT LEAVE ANY WHITE RESIDUE!!!!!!!!!!! That stuff really works, and it takes about half the time of the regular wax that i used (Meguires, which is where i got a lot of residue left over). Trust me, this stuff really works.

I use meguiars on my Yellow Cobalt, it looks great. I started using it after I went to a professional detail shop and had it detailed. I asked what wax they use and they said meguiars. Next time I wax I will post pics. When you use it though you have to be sure and let the wax dry and harden and then use a microfiber rag to buff it off. No residue and awesome shine.
