no necierily(sp) in my moms 04 Grand Prix, if the third brake light burns out the cruise control wont work. there wierd things that happen with electronics. its probably very possible

As someone with work experience in electronics and computers, I can tell you that most electronic signal modifying devices are made of just resistors, capacitors, or inductors. The Jet Performance GM Performance Module, like the one I put on my 2007 LE5 may be "just a bunch of resistors to fool the ECU" but they seem to have the correct resistance to cause the E67 to produce an improved low end throttle response and better performance while still producing 30+ MPG Highway. The cost of the components doesn't justify the cost of the product, but the development engineering (to determine the correct values for the internal electronic [resistor] components) to modify the sensor signal to the ECU for a given response accepted by the customer does... and that engineering cost is the majority of the cost of the GM Performance Module, NOT the cost of the resistors inside.

i am still looking at getting the jet chip. they also make a power control unit that changes fuel mappings and such. i am still waiting for info back from jet. i want to know if there is any changes i can do manually with the control unit. i used a jet chip on my truck and it made a world of difference. i had a 94 full size chevy truck with a 700r tranny. the damn thing felt like it was never in overdrive and always trying pull something which was killing my mpg. when i put that jet chip in it shifted alot faster. and it would even give a lil bark from the tires if i got on it at a stop (happened on accident when i first installed the chip). it was a 4.3l v6 with 230k miles and i cant remember it ever doing that. i was pleased with jet and the jet chip i had and i am willing to try another product from them. just my 2 cents..

That's what we've been implying all along....if you can get a tune (and can find someone that knows what theyr're doing, or you can trust) great....for the rest of us the Jet Chip module suffices until we can
