not really, there are some that say CAI will make more power (its getting cooler air) but then a short ram makes more noise. Its really personal opinion. just make sure the short ram has a heat shield.

i have a K&N short ram and i saw a difference in both performance and sound!!!
i would recomend it... it also looks better because you can actually see it rather than just seeing a tube!!!

i wud go with a full cold air intake..due to the heat soak of the sri..our ecotecs get really hot..when i first put my injen on i had it sri..it was too loud..then i added the other attachment for the cai..and it made the car run cooler and not as louder..def felt a difference in the seat too..with the driver mod

there cant be that much heat soak.. its about the same distance away that my cavy short ram was and my cavy ran hotter than the balt. short ram is perfectly fine.

GMPP with intake resonator removal! i will recommend GMPP only if you can get good deal off second hand....its not worth the list price imo and better off with brands like K&N

K&N SRI typhoon (2.4 specific) is my other recommendation

i had sri, and just recently added the extra pipe for CAI, the sri is definatly louder by far, but i could feel a bit of difference with the CAI

SRI will make your IAT run ~12-15* WARMER then stock airbox on a 2.4
CAI will make your IAT run ~5* COOLER then stock airbox on a 2.4

I know this b/c I have an Injen, and a DashHawk... Ran the SRI at first but notice a significant increase in IAT temps, switched to the CAI and saw a decent drop. (Did this on the same day so I know outside temps didn't affect my "study")

No, the Injen doesn't come with one, and that is the one the OP mentions...
