this thread is funny because it reminds me of an incident that happenend a few months ago. I went over to my newly made ex - fiancee's house to pick up my couch. Her new man was over, anywho there was a new corrolla S in the driveway. So she introduced me to him and I said Nicole did you buy a new car ? She said no why ? I say because there is a piece of **** corrolla S in the driveway and I know I taught you better than that. She said that's not my car, so I ask if it is her friend Katie's car, she says no. Then says it is Luke's car ( her new man ) so I laughed, I said sorry I just thought it was a girls car.

He was so pissed. Then very mature like I burnt a hellified patch with my fathers Lowered Mark 8 truck in her driveway and left rubber peels all over that hideous car.

LOL thats great. Burnt rubber = PIA to get off. You should have given him the ol' french slap in the face first. (To add insult to injury.) A slap is unexpected, insulting and confusing. A punch is better...but demands a response. And the cops usually get involved. Not worth it.

Or you could of just peed on him

When I was car shopping, I looked at one and researched it.

And from what I read on the specs....the only difference is the trim package from the regular corollas.

So what's the point? You get a spoiler and that's about it. Pretty worthless. No more HP or better suspension.

The XRS weighs 2600 lbs, has a higher LIFT engagement rpm (Toyota VTEC) and lower fuel cut than the 2500 lb 2000-01/2003-04 Celica GTS's...which makes it a bit slower.

If you add on a standalone ECU to lower LIFT engagement, raise the rev limit, and reduce some weight, it'll practically be the same vehicle as the Celica GTS but with four doors.

If I was to get a 30+ mpg four door car that could get into the 13's NA...I'd go with the new Civic SI sedan instead of the Corolla XRS. XRS's can still be quick, but I'd might as well work with the best platform.

I'm not doubting that the new SI's are capable, but you'd have to spend a TON of money to get an NA one into 13's I'm sure.

Not really. I/H/E and a ECU reflash could put a Civic Si Sedan into the 13's all day long with a good driver. Give the K20 motor some cams and a KPRO standalone ECU tune on top of that...fuhgettaboutit. High 13's won't be a problem at all.

It would take an XRS I/H/E, cams, standalone ECU tune, and minor weight reduction to even stand a chance at getting 13's.

I owned a base corolla, CE, that i raced(autocross) and it had 130hp in it, but i got it for the gas mainly, 40 mpg...i could go weeks...the S however still does not have a lot of power to it....i would hit the rev limiter every time i raced, but hey, at least i won
Their a good base, economical, practical, whatever car But they are sooo bland compared to our cars!

I raced this Corolla today several times (some Mexican that wouldn't give up) and I totally destroyed him every time. Both our cars were automatic, but i had about 50hp on him. Gotta love the standard issue fart can. We pulled over and talked about cars for a few minutes after we were done. He kept asking me "Eees it have turbo?" I kept telling him no. He couldn't believe he lost that badly to a Saturn...

The Corolla S sucked.....yes. But the XRS was badass! Too bad they made such limited quantities due to the lack of demand. I guess the idea of a "fast" Corolla never really caught on. The Corolla XRS makes for good competition for the 2.4SS sedan and the Sentra SE-R spec V. I say those cars b/c they are all sedans with roughly 170-180hp. However, Chevy was the only one that didn't step up to a 6-speed......owell. I would have loved to bought a new XRS as they are so rare, and so sleeeeeeper! Unfourtunantly, they were discontinued by the time I was able and ready to buy a new car.
