My G8 feels slow after awhile. Then I drive my Aveo for a day and then I know what slow really is.

the cavalier might feel faster but thats just because its a 2600 pound rolling death trap.
Not a rolling death trap.

Also I do not think you'd embarrass a 2.2 ecotec/2.4twincam that's in a jbody compared to the 2.4 eco in the cobalt. It would be a close race of the slow beasts. Cobalt2.4 would have 16-21 crank horsepower adv but 300-400lb heavier.

who ever told you that dont know ****. If you run a 17.2 give up driving. The auto 2.4 run high 15s and the 5 speeds run mid to low 15s.
Jbody runs the same 5 speeds in the 15's. Using 87 octane and being a cheaper buy. Almost embarrassing to bring your cobalt to lineup and find yourself dead even at the finish.

Now I can only get 14.4-14.6 on 1/4 mile.... The car have been able to keep up with tuned lnf from rolls. So the car have the power but I don't know how to use correctly or even launch the car

I don't think 87 will affect that much to get a 17sec on the quarter .
Getting a little thick in here....

Keep up or lost by several cars?

Death trap compared to a side curtain airbag cobalt yes.

embarrassing no, Might be same speed, but the Cobalt is all around a better car. Sorry to burst your early 2000's are awesome bubble.

It's a death trap due to no side curtain air bags? Lol gtfo. Death trap suggests there is something wrong with it.

Coming to a race bragging and finishing even with your opponent. THAT is embarrassing. Sorry your LE5 is being compared to a 2002 jbody.

Would you mind posting pictures of wrecked Jbody's? Every cobalt I have seen seems to hold up the cockpit very well.

The cobalt is a bit safer, but this does not make a jbody a death trap.

You're saying someone driving a BMW with all it's safety features has the right to say us cobalt owners are driving death traps? just because his car has more features?

A ford pinto was a death trap.

Are you really complaining about drag racing times slower than 14 seconds? Honestly who cares.

I have owned a Jbody from the time i was 16 to the time i was 24. I have owned every motor that came in them and ever tranny from the 3 speed auto to the 5 speed mated to the 2.4L.

STOCK VS STOCK a 2.4 twin cam will not beat a 2.4L ECO. The only thing the twin cam will do is blow up because that is one of the worse engines made. Both my 98 Z24 and 02 Z24 blew the motors. Are they quick yeah they are but not as quick as a eco. Reliability, technology, refinement and speed all go to the ecotec.

This is whats left to our last Z24 my sister was in a 3 car accident she hit the back of a 2011 accent hatchback that car drove away the Z24 got towed then totaled but hey got 3500 from the ins!

her car had a intake cat back and was a stick. Same set up at my G5 and it never kept up with me.
