will a 2.4 fit in the 2.2 bay
i guess what im trying to ask is i have a chevy cobalt ls 2.2 turbo and i blew a rod due to a bad oil leak and i need an new motor and i was looking at the 2.4 motor caz they have 170hp stock and i was wondering if it would fit in my cobalt ls 2.2 any one know or know of any site that i could get this info from

Yes it will physically fit but with the way connectors for sensors are it may not just plug right up. Your better off getting a 2.2 and building it. If you want a 2.4 take your old block if its fine and stroke that to 2.4.

no my old block is f***ed i blew a rod trough the motor and it was built i have a lil bit over 300hp to the wheels i had a turbo exhaust tune throtalbody built the top end a lil and that thing was a beast i just wanted the 2.4 caz it comes stock with 170hp rather than 145 so thats a big diff after i put all my stuff on it from my 2.2 such as turbo injectors tune exhaust all that good stuff just trying to get more bang for my buck caz the motors are really close in price

in order to make it work you will need to put your stock head on the le5 block. the le5 has a 58x reluctor wheel on the crank that bolts on witch is shared between 07+ l61, le5 , lap, lsj, lnf. your 06 l61 has a cast 7x reluctor wheel on the crank. so you will have to go with a stand alone for tuning unless you can find a way to switch to the e37 ecu (07+ l61)

damn thats what i was afraid of is replasing all the bullshit i will probably just got with the 2.2 then and just put on all my old stuff on the new motor everythiong thats goin on new motor : godspeed turbo, dc exhaust zzp injectors trifecta tune top end build garrett downpipe coldair intake on turbo head routed under my car new mads going in the new 2.2 all of the above and meth injection nos spray on intercooler new rods pistons hopefully twin turboes beasyest setup for the balt ever!!!!!! well atleast i think soo my goal with the balt is 450hp++++ with major builds and some nice ass slicks

i just checked the specks you could put your 06 l61 crank in the le5 to work around the reluctor wheel but the displacement will be 2.2 not 2.4 anyone please correct me if I'm wrong i dont have the rod dimensions just the crank.
