I am a couple weeks away from ordering Wiseco pistons and K1 rods. Wondering why you aren't doing the same thing since you are pushing into 400hp territory? I am porting the head as well. I am hoping to get into the 350whp range on the m62 running e85. I am already running the cams. They are awesome. Exedy flywheel, and possibly the Spec stage 3,3+ clutch. Unless anyone thinks the Exedy stage 2 will hold? I am thinking about leaving it in and just seeing if it will. That would save me about $900.

Sounds like fun. I really don't have any plans for the TBSS, maybe an intake but that's it. Really don't plan to mod it to much. As for the bike i've got a **** ton of work to get done.

I'll be:

Ripping the fairings off and giving them an inside out wash and wax
Removing the headlight assembly, buffing the lenses, painting the housing black, doing an LED/Halo setup
Painting my rear subframe gold
Removing and Powdercoating my Barends, Rearsets, kickstand, and passenger pegs
ASV Gold Levers
Rizoma Black Aluminum Grips
Intergrated Smoked Taillight
Dunlop Q2 tires
Oil Change,and other maintnence.

Probably a few other things as well.

No point for a motor build just yet I have more trouble keeping cylinder walls alive haha I'm looking to see how much I can make on stock motor if it blows up then I'll be getting the zzp short block but fOr now stock motor will be fine for 400+ whp keep in mins stock motors are 300$ and I'm a master mechanic so it's like a expensive oil change to me Haha

Guess I'll just order Valve Springs and LS4 TB, what's left goes around.

I'll start out slow before winter starts:

Replaced my summer tires (BF Goodrich GForce Sport) with Falken Ziex 512 from Discount Tires.
Taking the wing off tomorrow, I always wanted it wingless.
Do the regular oil change and maintenance next week.

Then keep looking around css.net for further ideas during free time

Not the Cobalt, but for my Civic.

Retune for 550+hp.
Front Slicks and Skinny combo.
Make it look better on the outside.

NHRA License next spring when I get them 135+mph passes

I'll be overbuidling, the balt is my DD and only vehicle so it can't blow up on me.

Winter plans:

Install ported Euthanasia Head with ZZP Cams, LNF Valves, #82 ZZP Springs, new rockers and lash adjusters.

Weisco 10:1 forged slugs, K1 rods are on late backorder so I may end up with ZZP rods instead.

ZZP neutral balance shafts, ATI overdriven crank damper.

And back to 3.1 pulley. Hoping for 351hp

You're giving me bad ideas...Now Im thinking about throwing on a smaller pulley...must...resist...

Is the cylinder wall really the weak link? I was worried about breaking a ringland or bending a rod with the bigger build. What are the common failures with power adders on the 2.4ls?

You're right though. Tossing in a new motor isn't really a big deal.

Sleeves are considered a weak link with our ecotecs, I believe cylinders 1 and 4 (could be 2 and 3) have very little reinforcement behind them and are prone to crack. Some argue it is all in the tune while others like ZZP have built a girdle that hugs the outside of the sleeve and so far is good for 898 hp, but alas only available with a full engine from them. I've wondered how much more susceptible our LE5s are to this with the larger bore, but don't know enough to make an educated comment.

Our rods, according to ZZP, if they are the forged ones have bent at 350whp.

I had an order in for Enkei EV5 rims @TireRack and was going to buy the Brembo kit from Crate Depot that is on sale now, but I think I'm gonna cancel my order and save so I can get my SC or Turbo sooner. Hopefully I can maybe locate a good used Harrop TVS or 252, 256, 259 extended tip Turbo to finalize my decision and save some money in the process. I thought when I bought my header I was long down the SC route, but I am still craving some turbo lovin.

Built 4T45, ZZP Stage 3 Turbo Kit sitting pretty at 8psi, topped off with powdercoating my MSR045's candy black and getting a new set of tires. McGee is pretty inspirational. I'm gonna try to play it safe considering people shatter cylinder walls beyond 8psi.

No plans for the cobalt or eclipse. Beyond the cobalt getting some cheap replacement wheels and tires.

Most of the plans are for camaro. Plans are for it to hurt some feelings this year.
