zzp adapter plate

So I bought the zzp throttlebody adapter plate of dunkinuts (thanks again). I got it Saturday the only problem is it didn't come with the mounting bolts so I have emailed zzp and hopefully they can get back to me today about the size and lengt. For anyone wanting to do this install I can tell you right now if you get the lsj throttle body you will probably have to grind the lip down so that your intake will fit on it. Hopefully I get an email back soon enough so I can get the bolts and install it tonite I plan on doing a how to I will keep you guys posted.

Thats one reason to love the injen intake! Silicone couplers! No trimming needed!

But let me know how your car responds! I want to do this but the stupid 08s need minor wiring for it to work.

I have had it installed on my car since last summer and I didn't have to do that; there was no grinding needed at all.
I have a 3'' Rebel intake FYI.

Here are the 2 problems you will face:

- adding that extra plate increases the thickness of your throttle body assembly, so your intake doesn't bend at 90 degrees anymore.
To fix this, you will probably have to cut a bit off your 90 degree rubber elbow where it connects to the TB
you will switch from a 90 degree angle to something like 75 degrees

- you will have to actually purchase a new elbow, one that connects to a 3'' throttle body (vs your old 2.5'' elbow that you had).
For my Rebel intake, I got a 3'' to 3'' elbow

- your intake will significantly touch the hood liner, and it might rip it with time
i added a piece of 3''-wide black velcro (smooth side) on the liner itself and it prevents it from ripping open

- you might need to get a tune; i had to
if you don't you will idle at 2000 RPM and revs will come down verrrrry slowly

probably going to need to order that. I rarely see shops stock that kind of stuff.

When zzp releases this plate adapter for the 08s I will be grabbing one. I think they will need to for the sc kit.

the sc throttle body is larger than the 2.4 and on an sc setup would get a few extra hp.

i ordered mine online, let me see if I can find the link in my e-mails somewhere

here:

like I said, you will have to custom-trim it slightly since your angle will be less than 90 degrees (just use a pair of cisors).
If you don't, it will squeeze your elbow and reduce the diameter

another update

ok i persuaded the k&n elbow on the throttle body to find out i need either another set of bolts to bolt the plate to the intake mani or drill the holes bigger, the problem with the stock bolts is that they didnt fit all the way in the adapter plate so ill probably drill the plate holes out bigger tomorrow at work
