ZZP header for the auto 2.4
Alright guys heres a short rant/review I guess.
I installed a ZZP 1 3/4 midlength header with the 3 inch dp that goes into a 3 inch cat then its 2.5" out the other side. It was for a manual car.
To those saying a manual downpipe fits an auto well yes and no.
It does technically fit yes. However here are 2 issues.
1# the downpipe rests on the swaybar causing vibration.
2# the 2nd O2 sensor will not go in due to the frame and insulation along the exhaust tunnel.
3# the O2 sensors wires is also too short.
Now that I have that out of the way. Sound on the stock catback isnt too bad but you can tell its being choked up back there. But with the stock catback and the midlength combo and injen sri intake and the jet module power to 100mph is not bad. Before the head with just the intake and jet module power to 80 wasnt bad but it fell off there. Now it definitely feels like pulls harder. When its dry I will get another 0-100 video and see what the difference is. However due to the O2 issues I am throwing a code. So I guess I either need to get trifecta to tune out the rear O2 or I need to have the O2 bung rewelded at a different angle and extend the wires.
Though honestly I might just wait and pickup another DP or have this one further modified so its not sitting against the sway bar. The vibration isnt that bad at cruising speeds you dont notice it. On startup you do and when floored you do.

Its not bad at all. I only listed it as 2 problems as extending the o2 wires is no big deal.
But the vibration from it resting on the swaybar is a bit annoying. So at some point I will get to an exhaust shop and also get the o2 tuned out.

I bought the SS/SC DP and yes, the canaster hit the swar bar underneath but what i was going to do was just wrap some heat wrap around it to get it something in between to somewhat drown out the sound, unfortunatly my wife wrecked the car and when the dealer ship put back together the front end, they said that the DP was clogged and they put a regular 2.2 stock one on there T.T
as for the O2 wires, there is actually a lil clip connected onto the engine that you just pop off and it will give you more inches so that the O2 will stretch over. i twisty tied the wires to the fire wall or something near there so the wires would not lay on the dp. felt a lil bit increase in power but not much.

o i dont have the zzp header lol thought u were talking about the SC dp though because for 2.2s, looking at the engine our 02 is to the right, and the sc dps are on the left. i didnt get nothing but the DP. for the O2, i just popped off the clip thats attached to the engine and i was able to pull the O2 to the other side.
I would love to go SC but i still got extended warrenty on the car and its my DD. dont really wanna risk it so i might just put apperence mods on the car for now.

Bought it used. And yeah a bit much for an NA. Though honestly it takes off harder from a stop and pulls harder uptop so maybe it wasnt as extreme as I thought. And sadly due to buying it used it didnt come with an extender. But im going to have it tuned out by trifecta anyway.
thats the end plan though we will see.
I have the extended warranty as well
Just couldnt take being slow any longer. And the downstream o2 theres no clip in the engine bay that I could see to extend it and even then the o2 would rub against the exhaust tunnel as it was protruding too far and even after banging in the heatshield it still didnt really clear.
So that wasnt an option. Im currently running it disconnected till I can get to an exhaust shop and get it tuned. Definitely need it tuned though the car seems at a loss as to what to do at times. floored it tonight and it pulled hard then hit 2nd and hesitated then shifted and took off hard in 2nd.
I did think this header was extreme for a 2.4 but im honestly no longer thinking that. And the pull above 4000 rpms is pretty strong. Before I put it on I got edged out by a millenia S after 70. After the header I hung along side all the way to 110mph. I was honestly impressed considering thats a miller cycle v6 (technically a supercharged auto v6 boat but its a highway queen topend wise!) I always pull him lowend then hed rape me topend. Now I pull him lowend and if we go from a dig I stay out infront. If we go from a highway punch I stay along side! Not too bad honestly. His car ran 15.5 at 96mph. So im pretty happy for an untuned 2.4 auto. I havent had a chance to run him from a dig again to see but if im holding top end against him now its safe to say im a low 15 car. Before the header I edged out a buddies 15.51 at 91mph Civic B18b1 B16 transmission swapped 97 Coupe with full exhaust and intake. So for those considering this on auto 2.4s Im loving it!

Good to hear that it doesnt kill performance, whenever I get my stuff in it will be a install day. I have a magnaflow catback just sitting in my living room, so I have that the header and dp, theni bought that zzp adp plate off dunkinuts(I have had an lsj throttlebody for a year ) just too lazy to buy the plate.
