zzp header gasket

Im about to buy the zzp header/ downpipe combo and i was reading up on it. i found a lot of people complaining about the gasket leaking. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced that problem and if so what did you do. thanks

mine leaked really bad when I first put it on. I took the gasket out and used some exhaust sealer. The leak is still there on start up..but once metal heats up on the header and DP the leak is gone.

the guy at the shop told me if i had two two of the gaskets he could put them together to stop the leak. i bought two of the 2.5" flange off of ZZP directly and hoping that this will fix it. I just got them today and there extremely thick so im thinking that ill only need one. anhyone think this will work?

I just ordered the combo yesterday. Do they even provide the header gasket with the kit?? I kno they provide the gasket from the header to downpipe, but what about the engine to header gasket?? Do they provide it or do i need to purchase it seperetly?

No it is not provided, but you can re-use the stock engine-header gasket since it is an MLS gasket.

since alot of ppl have been having leaks from the zzp header to downpipe gasket, could i use some permatex and put it on top and bottem of the gasket for a better seal? Im thinking about doing this to all my gaskets and where all the clamps are in my cat-back, header and dp, because i think i have some leaks. Any suggestions?

I have to update my previous statement. Had my header/dp off to put stock on for inspection issues. When i went to put the zzp back on I had a minor leak in the header-dp gasket on both sides exactly 90 degrees from the two bolts Happened to have some permatex laying around and figured why not. Put back together, let cure for ~20 hrs(they recommend 24), and no more leak. That was about 1k miles ago, so im anxious to get under there and check it again.
