ZZP supercharger kit

Just getting some info from you guys that did it. I've read some posts that were making the supercharger kit look like it had some major headaches and some who loved it. Is it really ready out of the box, just bolt on and go or is it a real pain to install. Plus is $2300 worth an extra 50hp? Has anyone dynoed their cars after the supercharger install? Just wondering if it'll be worth it or not.

its not bad, ive done it twice lol, zzps setup is a little less complex with there sri, and the belt system they use, its all how mechanicly inclinded you are... i mean if you cant change your own oil, then i would say youll have a hard time..

Well I'm an AUTOMATIC 2.2 and the first time I went with I/H/DP/E and was trifecta tuned. I made 136hp/138tq. That was two years ago or so on the EXACT same dyno...

Supercharged results on the same dyno as before: 225hp/200tq

Install took one guy (elite_cyborg) here about 36 hours from start to finish. Minor issues but nothing major as far as the install goes.

My mods are as follows:
- M62 w/ GM stg2 pulley and belt
- 60# injectors
- OTTP 3" Intake
- Option B Cooling Tank
- ZZP S3 Heat Exchanger
- ZZP Midlength Header 1.5" primaries. 2.5" exit to 2.5" DP w/ hi-flow CAT
- Megan 2.5" Catback
- AND IT'S AN AUTOMATIC...

gained 87hp/64tq by adding the supercharger setup..!

Hope this helps.

Nice man, what pulley did you have with the kit during the dyno?

Really depends on mechanical ability, tool availability, random issues that happen during these installs, forgotten parts, experience, etc. When I had a sc kit installed(not zzp), it was about an 8 hour job for someone who had done it before, start to finish on a bone stock 2.4.

^^^this... same for me in a bone stock 2.4
but the longer the better, so the mechanic can work without stress and in a hurry, i left mine like 4-5 days (pcm/tune file issues, zzp customer service helped alot) i was getting around with my gf car. btw this was for a tc kit, also the person is in this forum.

tuning will take longer than just one day. Get ready for a couple weeks getting it dialed in AT LEAST.

DING! DING! DING!

I'm still not 100%, even after a PCM/TCM swap from ZZP. Torque Converter lockup/shudder issues that I am hoping is simply bad code or a sticking PWM solenoid and not a deeper mechanical problem.

Be prepared to be parked a week just in case..., and if it all goes great then hey, enjoy!
