Unfortunately none of the distributors we work with carry the 4th gen's.

I would just be extremely upset if I were to pay for another set of headlights and have all these tiny cracks show up on the casing. If that does occur with your headlights; does that fall under warranty? Other than my fear of these cracks occuring I am extremely interested in purchasing a set with the HID kits installed, but I need to have some form of reassurance that this will not occur, or it will be taken care of if it does happen.

The only way we can do any warranty on the projectors is if we ship them straight from distributor. Of course if we did that, then we can't do the anti-glare mod.

So in other words when they crack which most of them do,if not all of them, we are stuck with it...

ya pretty much. Put hids in them right away, that should help prevent some cracking. Also replace your side marker and turn signals with leds since they run cooler. That side marker bulb actually gets pretty damn hot.

its not the bulbs cracking the lens...its the cheap plastic the lens is made from+the sun/heat= cracking.

x2 still waiting for an answer... I have had cracks since a month of owning them.. Operatic said i could polish them out, which was nonsense to hear.. I baked them in the oven and put the lenses from my 1st gens on there.. now they are cracking too.. two sets of headlights, one from ebay, others from operatic.. both stress cracks... what a waste of money for a non warrantied cheap product...

Oh yea, and now the pieces that hold the projector to the headlights.. the ball and socket joint piece.. it broke, and the projector bounces when i hit bumps.. THANKS!!

Hi there I'm really interested in these headlights, and want to get the HID's,

so what is the deal with these cracking headlights, are there more people with this issue.
I have a vary stiff ride with my suspension and I don't want to end up with garbage.

any imput would be much appretiated

Thanks

The cracking/spidering is on the lens itself. It's something that got brought to our attention after we started selling them and unfortunately it's damn near impossible to get them replaced by the distributor (I've tried, only ever got 1 replaced in the last year and that was a 6 month process).

The other problem is, the spidering lens is notorious across all projector headlights we've seen for the Cobalts. The only "good" solution is to swap the lens off the factory headlight onto the projector headlight.

In the meantime, I've got an OEM Cobalt headlight that's popped open so I'm waiting on a set of Morimoto projectors to come in to see how they fit.

Sorry, I don't :T
And the only ones I can get would likely be Depo or Eagle Eye reproductions and that would require buying the entire headlight assembly just for the lens :|

is there a how-to on installing the LEDs and HALOs? I know you just wire it up to the brown wire, but how do you do that? Are there any special tricks?

No real tricks to be honest. We usually just use T-Taps when we tap into the turn signal/parking lights in case we have to remove the headlight.

I got mine from Pro Tuning Lab they have the CCFL halo's cost a bit more but they are brighter and last longer, I bought the 3rd Gen style and but HID's in both high and low (35W), and have had them installed for a year, no cracked or melted lense.

these are the ones i got:
Chevy Cobalt / Pontiac G5 05-09 CCFL LED Projector Headlights - Black with HID Kit

right now on sale with HID for $290
