"The projectors use a propriety bulb." So us customers are pretty much stuck going through you to find a replacement bulb, correct?
Gripe 2:
Halo's. I'm not driving a BMW, I don't want them. Yes, I could just not enable them, but if there was an option for not having the Halo's on the projectors, I'd be in for a set.

Yep
Still kind of the reason I suggest picking up a spare set of bulbs.
Gripe Response 2:
Sorry, with the way the halos are mounted, they're pretty much a solid part of the projector. It's probably possible to take it off, but I haven't gotten that brave yet.

Sooo... Probably gonna end up ordering some, question though.
Since our stock housing uses 9007 bulbs i'm guessing we need to pick up the 9007 kit? Because I have 3rd gens with h1 Hids so i'm guessing that if I order the H1 kit I will not be able to use these projectors in my car at all? Or am I not understanding how this works?

It's not something you can normally expect most people to carry.

The way the PnP Projectors are setup, they're designed based off the original bulbs in the housing, so that they slip straight through. So with the stock Cobalt headlights, you would use the 9007 projectors. With the 3rd gens... You know, that's not one I've tried yet and I've got a busted 3rd gen around here too that I could try this with. If it's the high beam, I assume it's theoretically doable with the H1 Projectors. On the low beams, you would need to cut and gut the low beam projector side.

I've been kicking around the idea of starting a core program with these. Main reason is, as simple as these are, there's still a lot of people that are scared to pop open their own headlights. The fear of breaking it and then being completely out of a headlight is a genuine concern.
I'll source out a set of OEM headlights locally, from somewhere I know I can get more if needed, and use that as a core cost for the headlights. Assemble, test, re-seal, and then ship to the first customer. At that point, the customer either sends back a usable core headlight. As long as they're good, the core fee is refunded. If they don't return them, we simply source a new set of headlights and start over.
The primary goal is to simply reduce the amount of time you're out of a set of headlights.
Either way, I still have these Cobalts headlights open, so I'm playing around with them a bit more
I wasn't really sure about the one in the main headlight. So I pulled it out.
That actually comes out nicely in person. You should never leave me with an open headlight and some LED strips...

I'm currently waiting on another set of projectors to come in since the ones I was working with just got sold. Also waiting on a couple different shrouds to come in as well. Hoping to do a full side by side comparison against an Acura TSX and see how these really hold up. I'm gonna see if I can drag out the GM Of Houston guys when we do this and get everyone's opinion fist hand.
I'm thinking if I do a shroud around the projector itself, the projector would have a "sunk" look. Should help clean it up. Just trying to find a bowl I can work with. Once I get a consistent setup that we're all happy with, we start offering it to everyone else.

Well that was short lived. I just got cut off on the projectors completely. Apparently they have zero desire to manufacture the H7 or 9007 models. Gonna be a bad year, I can feel it already. That and jury duty... DAMN YOU KARMA!

also it's just a small ring i'm sure theres someplace you could find that could make said locking ring and then you provide the PnP Hids

I was going through the manufacturer themselves. They want an order of 50 for any 9007 or H7 projector, in any given color. Even if I dumped them, it would take over a year. As for producing the rings themselves, I thought about this but the 9007's use a long threading bolt than the rest of them. I tried jamming a G3 projector into a Cobalt just to see how much thread was left, and there simply wasn't anything to even bolt onto. Plus there's the whole rubber sealing grommet problem. Short answer, a secure supply line was cut off before they even got started.
i KNOW the actual suppier will sell 9007 because i have a set coming to me with blue halos for my ion and the guy ordered 25
