445 gears is best for less gear stess but what else? Just depends on setup and what you are doing with the car and if you care about top speed reduction, shifting sooner, cruising at 3500+rpm @80 mph ect...

Once I get 4.45's in the car I probably won't do interstate anymore. Lots of rpm.

With the stg2 cams my car like to rev a bit more that's why I'm thinking 4.45s would work out well for me

You would do well with them if you could find traction

Final dimensions. Only thing left is to send file and have milled. I also need to make a provision for pullers like the stock piece had but I will be placing it in a slightly different orienting which will be noted after gears are installed on output shaft. Still not 100% sure what grade steel to use. As far as weight, the steel brace I made weighs in under 2lbs.

Damn, just had my transmission completely apart for a new gear set, diff, and 4.45s. I would love to get my hands on this.

I can always just send you the brace itself and you could fit it yourself but would be best if you sent me your bellhousing to fit the brace. I've added several thou of material in key spots to ensure best fitment to each bellhousing, not to mention the milling on bellhousing as well as the press fit dowel fastener is the icing on the cake and can only be done after brace is fitted. We are also dealing with a cast alum bellhousing so tolerances are not identical between each bellhousing so I can't just give you a measurement.

Update: final product should be in my hands within a couple weeks. I cannot wait!

In because I love renderings of parts. This is really neat to see, 6 years later the community is still coming up with fixes.

Exactly. There is no reason the deltas have to die because GM stopped production. Hell, look at the Supras now. They are worth almost as much as the modern GTR relative to wear and mileage in Stock form. We have the same, if not more, potential as comparable Honda platforms only we don't have the vast selection of aftermarket drivetrain parts. It's our missing link. Our f35 is a damn good transmission. There are just a few weak spots which wreak havoc on the entire assembly.

I may pick up a spare trans in the next couple months and have it built as well. If I do I'll send the bellhousing out to you. Or to a local custom shop and have a complete billet one machined

Billet bellhousing would be ideal but $$$$. Idk how many would spend 1500+ for that. I could design one but again $$$$

I may have went a little overboard on the flashing removal main area of concern was the center with its sharp corners and jagged edges.

I wondered if you even still had yours. Haven't heard much about it for awhile.

Take a look at where the crack travels. It's hard to see but the stress raisers in this area are severe and on every edge. This is why I believe smoothing out the stress raisers in this area is important. Smooth flowing corners lessen the chances of stress fractures.
