et street R's are the latest and greatest, pretty much their pro compound in a DOT radial. only on a 55 shot right now, but it's definitely picking up more than that at the tires. I can run up to a 125 shot with the current setup, but I think max I"ll run is 75 and just keep the car at 31.5psi boost. decisions decisions lol

eh it's a small shot. no harm no foul. only using it for racing anyway. normally I just drive the car on boost. but that extra 500 rpm of spool time is nice.
I have another motor in my garage so if this one goes boom it's not the end of the world. I didn't expect it to even make it this long. already got over 5000 miles on it beating it since day 1 lol

Well I got everything all back together. Going to strap her on the rollers today and get her dialed in. I had planned on doing some no lift shifting on the dyno as well but the clutch is brand new and I didn't have enough time to break it in fully so that will have to wait until the next Dyno session.

Luckily I was able to do some testing tonight at my local 1/8 mile before FWD no prep racing tomorrow. I hit several sub-2 second 60ft. I was 0.01 away from a 1.7 60'. I'll post all the slips tomorrow night after racing.

How bout I post both slips and video
I made 7 passes last night trying to get the two step dialed in. I ended up launching at 5500 rpm about 7lbs boost. I hit 5 consecutive 1.8 60' passes. Not sure what happened to my 6th time slip. I had a couple issues last night that were killing my ET. My clutch is slipping after NLS and when the times it does grab I get those stupid NLS massive misfires so my best ET last night ended up being regular shifting. I'm probably leaving at least 0.15 ET on the table without NLS I'll be getting a twin disc soon so I can beat the hell out of the trans even more
Fwiw, 1320 video is covering this no prep event today so maybe you'll see a better quality video of it soon.
The Sonoma in this vid is a 4.8 LS swapped Sonoma on a 50 shot, stall, built 4l60e trans, 4.10 gears, cam, and big ass Hoosier radials.

It would be nice to be able to launch with a little boost, or just be able to do it without having to slip the clutch a bunch. I have tried to do it without boost, and have hooked up, but it just bogs with launch control. 2 step would be the way to go.

Thank you, I thought so too.

They WERE 12.8 @ 111 on old setup(stock turbo & Hoosier 26" stiff drag radials and 4.45) and that's with a 2.1 60'. Fastest 1/8 on old setup was 8.2 at 89.
No prep event went pretty good today actually. I lost to an 1800lb civic hatch by 1 car length (approximately. 1-.2 tenths)And guess what, he went on to win the entire class. If I was able to NLS without clutch or missfire issues, I may have had one hell of a succes story but I shifted normally. I'm glad I was able to test it out a little bit before the event so I knew how to avoid the problems. Oh well, the HHR does exactly what I expected it to do. Cuts 1.7-1.8 60' with ease. Pass after pass after pass. I ended up at 5800 rpm launching
1320video has a close up video of my launch on one of their Facebook live feeds.

It's ok to lose to a gutted race car that couldn't survive a crash
I thought you were running the full 1/4 in the event, on your new r and slick setup? Those were the times I was interested in. Where did you get your 2 step from and is there a wiring "how to" for it on here?

Yea I wasn't too upset barely losing to the winner and the best part, I was the only car that didnt trailer my car lol. Street car through and through. Man, she was leaving HARD too. So far, the trans has shown no signs of being stressed. No noises, still silky smooth. I am so happy with this trans. I don't think I'll ever have to build another for myself again unless I wanna change gear ratios. Kinda wanna build a 3.82 also for highway fun. 3.82 vs 4.05 is a huge difference for highway pulls. 3.82 will always pull on a 4.05 on cars with only difference being the gearing.
63nova, NO prep drag racing/grudge events are always 1/8 mile. closest 1/4 mile track to me is 3hrs away so I don't go very often. Either way, testing and improving your 1/8 times before you go to 1/4 is the way to do it if it's convenient. Less stress on the car too. Believe me, when I hit the 1/4 mile, I'll let you guys know. I'm certain I will gain the title of Fastest hhr as the current one is only 12.3@112(has 4t45e auto trans).
The two step is called an N2MB WOT BOX. There actually is a how to guide to install on the LNF on this forum now. I added some info to that thread as well. You need to have exceptional soldering and wiring skills because the wires you tap into are very sensitive to excessive resistance.

Here is 1320 video live feed on Facebook. They were right next to my car while I launched so you can see how hard it leaves. My race is at 12:40.
