Lsj internals for 450 hp - turbo'd
So i blew my rings (i think) on my pistons... I initially thought it was valve seals causing the smoke grenade coming out of my exhaust, but after replacing those while i put valve springs in i soon found out that its not the valve seals. After a leak down i determined there was pressure in the crankcase so that points to rings or pistons.
Needless to say its time for some upgrades! so with little experience with engine internals im looking for advice from my fellow css.net enthusiasts.
Now i know high compression is better for the turbo so i was thinking somewhere around 8.9 or 9.5 compression ratio. Which only leaves diamond and wiseco pistons.... Which are better and what would you recomend?
Next would be rods, I domt know much about these At all, what is going to be a Reliable cost effective rod for my power goals?
Then, sleeves, do i need them? I kow our sleeves are thin walled and are one of the weakest links.
I was also going to port and polish the head whileim at it.
After that, do i need more fuel? I have 80# injectors but no upgrades to fuel sending, whats needed here?
Any help here guys and gals would be greatly appreciated!
Also on a side note, from someone with experience, what does it cost to get a performance shop to install all of this? I dont feel comfortable with changing internals. Just am estimAte would be awesome.
