Life after my Cobalt....LSX Colorado

its been almost two years now since I sold the cobalt. The world didn't end like I expected.... took care of some stuff that I needed to do after buying a house and with a pregnant wife ( 6 weeks to go ) and now its time for daddy to play.

So heres what ive done so far on my 2012 5.3 4L60 Colorado Z71.

The day I test drove her:

First upgrade was a catback exhaust and dyno tune ( cant find any pictures or the dyno video. Not sure where they are.....

Next came an intake... also no pictures of that.

Then this batch of buying included a ported and polished throttle body

Scraped the rear of the fenders horribly so I went with a rancho 4" lift kit, tough country 2 " add a leafs on top of the rancho kit and to compensate full size 1500 shocks ( rancho shocks all around )

Front went on no problem.

But the rear did not like it. Broke 2 u bolts, bent the centering pins, and then the driveshaft was resting on the rear cross member

Soooo not wanting to hack up a perfectly good truck that my daughter will be riding in when shes born next month, I ditched the add a leafs and full size shocks and went with just the rancho lift and recommended shocks

Front bumper goes back on this week after we trim it for a few goodies.

Long tubes and fans will probably wait until spring.

That's all I got for now. Ciao.

Picked up some reverse lights with Samsung 2323 LED chips in them. VERY happy with results.

Light output is awesome. Nice bright white. I think it was 1100 something lumens.

Ordered a set for the fog lights, should be here next week sometime.

Got them on ebay, i think it was like 10 bucks or something free shipping. You have to hunt around because theres alot of less output LEDs on there.

Im sure. I like the way it sits. Just enough lift for the tire. I hate when trucks lift it 12" and run 11.5" wide 33s lol

Thanks! im probably going up two more inches or an inch and a half once i can notch the rear cross member for the drive shaft to clear. right now its just 4 inch lift. clears the 33s at full lock although tire to tie rod end is less than a quarter inch

boy was I looking for a 5.3 colorado a while back! SO hard to find!

Looks good buddy, had I gotten one my end goal would have been the 'xtreme' body kit & wheels swap on a mean lowered street truck :P

We just got rid of our 2011 5.3L Colorado for something a bit bigger. I liked the truck a lot. I see they redid the cup holders for the 2012 model.

Very nice man. Nice tasteful mods just like you had on the Cobalt!

By the way, sorry I didn't get back to you Saturday about stopping by on my way through your state. Traffic was awful getting out of the Cape and I just wanted to get home.

We will plan something next spring.
