Well, it's a 2.3 and it probably has the gear ratios of an evo/sti. Fast until you get to the track and 5th gear. I wonder what WHP will be.

I've thought about this but I just don't think I want to pay 36k for a car

I'm hearing it's going to be closer to 40k. And you better like how much it's putting out now because rumors are the drivetrain can't handle more. Would be a fun car and probably please a lot of enthusiasts but 40k is a lot of money.

A buddy I know is the son of a dealership owner. They have one coming to them; $7,000 over sticker and they expect it sold same day received.

Next Car? Ford Focus RS?

You guys think 40k is expensive for that car? It trumps the evos sti and golf r and those are 40k lol

If i had the change i would get one no questions asked. Our drivetrains cant handle much either thats what upgradings for haha

HPT doesn't support either the Fiesta or Focus and apparently doesn't plan to, so NOPE.

Yeah but I'm guessing upgrading the drivetrain in that awd car would be expensive. Ours is cheaper. Don't get me wrong it's a cool car for what it is. It's just expensive enough that's it's also in the price range of some other nice cars.

Idk how I feel about this car. On one hand it's an awesome beast of a car....on the other hand I'm not sure if the drive train is up to the task of the power, forgetting about mods. That rear diff can't take much abuse at all, it's pretty maxed from the factory.

You would have to be satisfied with it as is, would be a lot cheaper. The car sounds pretty capable stock, but wouldn't keep up with the newer 5.0 or Camaro SS at the drag strip.

It's prob one of those cars that if I had money to be a car collector I would buy it, and never drive it. Stock with low miles on this car would probably be a Barret Jackson collectible caliber 15-20 years from now.... Unfortunately I don't have the space to keep one like that

The rear diff is a clutch driven diff and if you put more power to it they will get too hot and deactivate often and you pretty much have to get an upgraded rear end if you wanna push more power.

I feel like the advertised 350hp/tq is what it hits with the over boost feature ford added to their cars.

Same, plus I'd rather have a car that's been in production for a long time because then any problems with the car has been already figured out. You can't say that with the rs because this is the first generation, so let someone else deal the problems first then you never know my mind might change lol

porky rs

seems cool but all the inertia from 4WD, maint of said system, dealer addendum bs and power to weight not soundin compelling.

but im waiting to see / drive in person.

maybe just wait and sell all vehicles and get a '17 f GT ?

i had this pdf on here w/ my ad selling one of my t/c cobalts.

torque vectoring does not sound like LSD 2 me..

Its not worth it.
You can buy BMW 335tt cars slightly used and have change left to make it faster for that.
Any economy car isnt worth over 30k even in the highest trim IMO.

Is there anything economy about the RS aside from the Focus name?

I'd pick one up if they go down to around $28k by the time I graduate next year.

Oh man you guys lol.

The car is priced fine. I suppose 99% of you have never sat or been in a European focus ever? Yeah, not in the same league as the US spec focus.

The rear diff is the reason more power cannot be put to the rear. One it is near capacity and two it's logic. No one ever said the front couldn't take a lot more one of the rear diff engineers already spoke about this and how ford marketing has twisted and pulled out of context how the power is transfered at the rear.

Mountune already has 2 stages planned for mods. IC, exhaust, tune, wheels, intake, etc it's all in their new promo video.....

I canceled my preorder as they kept having rear diff issues and I don't want to be the first gen Guinea pig. My friend still has one on order so I'll still be able to drive and try it. Still gonna be a **** car!
