It's bittersweet really. Any time I'm at an event with it, nobody pays it any mind. It's completely ignored. They'll will all be humping the lowered 350z with wheels that is other wise stock. Nature of the game I guess. However at the track its the opposite. Once I rip off a pass everyone is like WTF is this witchcraft?

I mean I like 350z's obviously but it's like come on now I have more time and custom parts invested in my tranny swap alone than a cookie cutter 350z. Sometimes it irritates me lol

Im not hating on the 350z just the people who wouldnt give the time to ask you about your car or check it out because its not on pf01's with stretched tires
I love sleeper cars, to me thats what its all about, let the haters hate they will learn the hard way. Smart people and real car guys will see your car and want to know whats what the cookie cutter 350z guys will never care, but it will still be fun showing them taillights on your way to the freight train .

Sleeper cars are awesome, which is why I like to cobalt I normally go around car shows and look for cars like this because they get no attention so I have a better chance of finding out what actually has been done. Although I do run into a few douches that paid someone to do all the work and then they won't say a word about what has been done

Got a bit more done today. Got the harness fished through the firewall and routed where it needs to go and plugged in to almost everything. I still have to run it under the carpet in the car to Megasquirt. I think it looks pretty good for my first ever attempt at a harness. Hopefully it works!
Also got some silicone radiator hoses. Only the top 2 fit. The bottom one does not. Likely because I've moved the radiator some. I'll just get a standard lower hose I guess and put some pretty loom over it or something I guess.

Only got a little work done today. Got the wideband tied into the Megasquirt harness now. Had a fun time hunting down the wires for the wideband. We installed it like 7 years ago and put the output wires "were we wouldn't lose them" in case I decided to tie it into something later... Took me a while but I found them lol
I have the fuel pump relay wire routed to the relay but then I got rained out. Hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow so I can get that finished. Then I need to mount my fuse block and wire it in, then it's lay the carpet back down, bolt Megasquirt down. After that it's misc stuff to button up. It's getting close to first start.

Busy day today. Took the day off work to get all the little stuff tidied up. Engine bay is done with exception of, hanging the starter. I'm still waiting on my custom dizzy cap and plenum cover too. In the future maybe some catch can revisions. New fuse block for Megasquirt is in stalled, Megasquirt mounted and plugged in other than the fuel pump relay. Right now I'm working on installing my new boost and oil pressure gauges. So in the morning I'll finish up installing those. In the morning it is hang the starter, get the fuel pump relay wired put the dash back together then connect the laptop to Megasquirt and get that sucker configured and attempt first start.

This car of mine... I swear it likes to screw with me. Finally get to the point to crank it over to see if it builds oil pressure (I've had pump priming issues in the past), I have no ignition power at all... So after about 2 hours of chasing wires we isolate it down to the fusible links, turns out I damaged one somehow so w replaced it. Now it turns over. Turn it over, no damn oil pressure. Seems the new pump is not priming even though I dumped oil in it, the pick up, the filter... Spent a good hour trying to get pressure with no luck. Figure screw it move on to the fuel pump come back to the oil pressure later. Exactly zero power is going to the fuel pump relay. Chase some more wires around. Looks like the factory EFI harness is responsible for routing power to it. Well it has been eliminated from the system. Great, so wired up a stand alone relay for it. It also looks like my turbo timer **** the bed too.... That was my day today lol.
It will fire tomorrow or bust!
