my smoked tails are on back order from supplier till June 10, then 7 business day shipping to Meeeeechigan, will post pics once on car Next mod, charge pipes or...?

LED 3157's - Load Resistors on Brake / Turn - How to Install?
Hi All,
I have installed LED brake / turn signal bulbs (SuperBrightLED's) on my 09' LT Sedan and of course the car is experiencing "hyper-flash". I ordered and just received 2 x 6 Ohm 50W Load Resistors and need guidance on how to install these properly. I have attached pics of the wiring on the tails. I have searched the web and the Cobalt SS Network but can not find out exactly how to install these. If there is a "How To" already, I do apologize but I have searched most of the forums. There are 5 wires coming out of the bulb housing. 2 wires go to the parking light and 3 (1 x brown, 1 x black and 1 x yellow) go back to the main plug. The yellow and another black go to the reverse lights which are NOT LED's. Which wires do I tap into? I think I tap into the wires in the 2nd image below but not 100% sure.

If I was to tell you the resistors have to PARALLEL, NOT SERIES, the bulb and each bulb needs it's own resistor would you know what I was talking about or should I explain PARALLEL? It takes two wires to make a bulb light. Just for demonstration purposes lets say there's two wires going to the bulb, that would be EACH filament, the resistor goes between those two wires just like the bulb. Easy. Good luck with your project. I believe Superbrite also sells an electronic flasher that wou;ld solve your problem also. Don't know about cost effectiveness though. I LOVE that Superbright site.

OK! Without a wiring diagram I can't tell which wire does what. So you're going to have to either buy one or pick through each connector with a voltmeter to find out what's what. My advice to you would be to find an electronic flasher that handles LED's. The electrical systems on the new cars are a nightmare. Everything effects something else somewhere else. Just an example. If all three of the bulbs in the stock high level brake light were to burn out your cruise wouldn't work. I learned that the hard way. And if you change them to LED, even 12V LED's, you still need a resistor to simulate the resistance of the stock three incandessant's which is around 7 ohms. The 10 ohm 50 watt resistors you bought will suffice.
If there are only TWO wires going to a bulb install a resistor between those wires. If there are more than two, like a brake/turn your going to have to figure out which wire is which and put a resistor between the two wires that go to each filament in the bulb.

Not sure if "fun" is the appropriate word for it... but I do appreciate your help. I will try the "trial and error" method for now. I am pretty sure it is the brown and black wires I need to tap as the yellow goes to the reverse lights which are not LED. I will let all know the results - working on it tonight.

uhh the one of my condo village place thing is my low beams. and the 2 of the road are highbeams. i had blownss06 make them for me so i have no idea how much work actually went into them. i just know that ill never own a vehicle again that doesnt either have retrofits or projectors already installed.
