So I've gone through this whole thread and I was wondering if there was anyone that has made custom painted headlights that aren't black?? I'm working on a project but I want to see others that have headlights in different colors, can anyone help me out?

just use the site search and put in "color matched headlights" you'll find them spread out in lots of different threads.

Anyone have any idea as to why the type 2 LED's will work for a while when the engine is cold, but after driving for it bit, they will then start acting like type 1 LED's? i bought the wrong resistors the first time, so now i have the 6OHM. Are the bulbs defective?

Just save your money and make some retros. Will look and perform 100 times better. That's what I should have done in the first place. Cons for Gen 3's: Clear coat starts to fade after awhile, you'll need to do the anti glare mod for a better cutoff, and halos aren't bright, ccfls are way brighter. Pro's: You'll have halos and leds for looks, if you like that. Decent cutoff with proper aiming, and look better than stock chrome lights. After I got my retros I'll never go back to anything else. I love them! but if you don't have the money or want retros go with gen 3's or gen 4's. I've heard gen 4's have the best output though.

Any way to help prevent the clear coat from fading? And also so if I were to get the gen 3's I would want to get the CCFL's?

the clear coat won't just fade, it spidercracks due to heat from the bulbs. Even the turn signal bulbs get hot enough to cause this. Yes get the CCFLs, they're much brighter.

here is a couple of pics from my quad projector retrofit. got the idea from Padlock. was just gonna put in a set of FXrs at first but after seeing what he did i figured i could experiment a bit with my Gen 1 headlights. the plan is that the FXr will be my low beam and highbeam. The original projector has essentialy had the shroud trimmed back pretty radically it will be for highbeams only.

anyways PIC's

Front Facia out and the bits removed. housing dremmeled out behind where the Gen 1 projector will go. The Fxr is going where the original projector went.

i wanna get the eagle eyes gen 2 as well..the cleanest look in my opinion. i am not running hids either, so the spider cracks should not be an issue.

ive bought 3 different lights that were all eagle eyes brand, and they come apart within a week from the heat. The grey glue adhesive runs all over the car and then its hard as hell to get off. Even though Depo is not the nicest looking, they are the best quality...
