Improper use of the word ignorant must end!
ig·no·rant /ˈɪgnərənt/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ig-ner-uhnt] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–adjective
1. lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned: an ignorant man.
2. lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact: ignorant of quantum physics.
3. uninformed; unaware.
4. due to or showing lack of knowledge or training: an ignorant statement.
[Origin: 1325–75; ME ignora(u)nt < L ignōrant- (s. of ignōrāns), prp. of ignōrāre to ignore; see -ant]

—Related forms
ig·no·rant·ly, adverb
ig·no·rant·ness, noun

I dont think any of this applies here.

It is ignorant to put HIDs in Halogen reflector housings.

you are lacking in the knowledge, uninformed, and unaware of the effect of doing it.

its the perfect word.

the kicker is that im agreeing with you...theyre not the correct application for the bulbs...but im not doing anything about it until i have the resources to invest in a projector set up so ur wasting ur breath on me

Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

when you grow up and get a clue, send me a PM and ill help you with your HIDS.

until then, I hope you dont kill someone in an accident, and spend the rest of your life regretting having your pretty blue lights, dispite being warned countless times.

Ehh, kind of a stretch. Maybe, irresponsible. I think irresponsible works better. But again, I think reflector housings in general cause glare. Reflector housings suck mad *****, even halogen lights blind me. Projectors need to come standard on all cars.

ok...you're going to blind someone one day and they are going to crash and hurt themselves. you may not even be aware that this will have happened but that won't change the fact that it did happen. Use common sense, don't put HID bulbs into halogen reflector housings and do things right.

Oh and those pink lights are gayer than richard simmons.

I've generally found that mechanicals are the ones who have no clue on this subject...
Hence why mechanicals don't design automotive lighting.... engineers do that.

Ok... story time...
Once there was a mid-50's pipeliner from Alberta. He was generally an easy going guy... fun to hang around with and shoot the ****. One day the cops came to the camp he was staying at for work.... apparent vandalism of a vehicle.
Supposedly what happened, is that some dumb ass kid put HID's in a set of reflector housings on his Civic. When this guy flashed him due to the blinding glare, the kid flashed him back. The flash of light caused a temporary spot in his vision, and he slid into the ditch. Upset by this, he turned around on the highway, chased the kid down, and smashed out all of his headlights.

After this story hit the cop station, and was later proved truthful, he was let off the charges, and the kid was written up with an inspection ticket.

So, that goes to show you...

ok well no ones warned me IN PERSON...ive had em in since christmas 06 and for about 35,00 miles...followed countless ppl different places with no complaint (ive even asked if they were blinded), passed perhaps hundreds of cops and never been pulled over, been flashed less times than i can count on my hands and passed NYS inspection...so yeah maybe someone has to smash them out for me to "realize" what a terrible person i am...boo hoo...still doesnt make me wanna go out and rip them out of the car...

love the look and functionality of projectors...but im not spending the money when i have other more important things to take care of first

It's only about $150 above the cost of HID's to put in projectors, and a weekends work.

I'm assuming you were referring to my story...
Actually it was a guy that my brother was working with last fall.

My whole family works in the oil & gas pipeline industry... except me.

I cant believe some of the people in here insisting that HIDs in stock reflector housings are ok beacause they "havent been flashed yet" I find this very hard to believe, I cant drive our G35 with stock lighting without getting flashed ATLEAST once a night. I even brought the damn car to the dealer to make sure they were aimed correctly and they were.

If you cant afford projectors dont get HIDS.

/Thread.

Ok... 150 + 75 for new bulbs and connectors... $225...
For a good setup, it's still worth it.

WRT putting in time, effort, and know how...
Time... understandable.... but I'll assume your never going to modify your can ever... cause that takes time.
Effort... I sure hope your not saying your lazy...
Know-how... if your so stubborn that your not willing to learn... then you are beyond our help... and as a matter of fact, are absolutely no use to this forum at all.... we are all learning and teaching, it's part of the automotive world. The sooner you learn that, the better off you will be.

its not high on my list of priorities...thats all

im willing to learn but i have a very low amount of patience and id end up screwing something up

and yeah im lazy between working 50 hours a week and goin to school full time

whats done is done and like i said it hasnt caused a major problem and i highly doubt it will cuz u cant drive anywhere without seeing an HID/Projector setup whether factory or aftermarket so the chances of me being a target are slim to none...

when the time comes...ill do it...not for a long time tho...in fact ill prob get rid of the car first...who knows

I find it interesting that people here throw such a big fit over HIDs in a stock housing yet street racing and those damn top speed threads are fine. I mean you'd all jump in on those with your comments and telling how fast you've driven, but a guy puts some retardedly blinding lights in his headlights and he's the devil.

While I agree that HIDs in the stock housing is irresponsible, and I'd never do it, I think you guys have your priorities screwed up when it comes to safety. I'd love to see you guys push this much for anti street racing and top speed threads, then maybe we'd actually save some lives.
