There is over 50 people on this forum dedicated to telling people that street racing is bad.... and only a hand full of us pushing the HID/projectors.
So, while I too am against street racing, I know that they'll get the point across just fine without me jumping in.
But if it's really a big deal, go back and search... you'll see that a majority of us have at noted a few time 'take it to the track'.

Well I hope you are, but I know in the past when I posted in the top speed threads that this should not be posted online as it encourages wreckless behavior and showed great irresponsibility I got flamed to death by everyone and no one backed me up. So I finally quit posting there, and on css.net in general to be honest, because I was tired of getting flamed for being responsible and honestly if often felt like I was the only one concerned with safety.

I'm very glad to hear that. Keep fighting the good fight because even if one person hears you and stops doing it, it's worth it.

There are too many safety police vigilantes on this site. While I disagree with choices that people make I dont think it is anyones responsibility but the person in question to fix their mistakes. There is no need for others to tell you what to do, there is no need to scour the forum looking for people to say NO! to. You are not responsible for other peoples actions or the safety of others. If someone causes problems because of their own actions, that is their problem, not yours. If someone does affect you personally in some way, then you can take action against them. Until then, being on safety patrol does absolutely no good, it is a waste of breath and time.

All you can do is be responsible and hope that others are responsible as well. And if others are irresponsible and make mistakes, be glad that you are responsible and dont make mistakes.

Hey An0malous, you bought the Acura TL projectors and retrofitted them into the stock housings, correct? I am looking to buy either BMW or Mercedes projectors and retrofitting them into the aftermarket projector housings...This should work as long as the projector lense and everything is the same size, correct? thanks for the info. Also, I am gonna run the 4100K HID's. To me anything other than that is useless due to the color that is given out instead of "true light"

Youve got to be kidding .....I dont pay attention to all the ridiculously high color temp bulbs , so Ive never even heard of 30K These kits are kinda hard on the stock headlight circuit they use to turn the ballast on too . I can believe none of them incorporate a relay . When a ballast fires up it can spike as high as 85 volts briefly . I run my ballasts off their own 40 amp relays with 25 amp fuses before the relay and 15 amp between the relay and the ballast in contrast . All I use the stock headlight wire for is to trigger the relay .

I would make sure on the size of the projector in the aftermarket light . They appear to be 2.5" lens . A GREAT 2.5 lens projector is a the Acura TSX and S2000 . Its not a bi-xenon , I assuming youll be retaining the high beam of the aftermarket light . Good thing though , the non-bi-xenon projector housing are much cheaper . IT should be a fairly straight forward swap .

an0malous and I both used Infiniti FX35/45 projectors.

If your looking into BMW projectors, maybe stay away from E55 projectors... I've seen some pretty nasty light output from them... besides that, like what SilverSS/SC said, check what fits your housing.
If you follow the link in my sig, somewhere in the first post is a link to HIDPlanet's projector dimension thread. You will have to sign up to view it, but it's worth it. There is a lot of valuable info over there.

And also, as Silver said, the TSX/S2000 is a great projector. They have a great cut off, and an amazing design.... although they will run you a good dollar.

How so ?( asking out of curiosity not to be a dick ) I ask because Im using Hella Europeon E55's( they are left hand drive versions) with gen 4 hella ballasts in mine , and Im working on retro now for someone else thats using US spec E55's and the same ballast . I think the light output and cutoff are execellent in both instances . The cutoff is a bit sharper in the US spec one , possible due to the additional shroud mounted at the upper portion of the reflector bowl . Mine Euro version just has the z-pattern high beam shudder and no upper shrouding .

I don't know off hand why... but I've heard a lot of people complain about them over on HIDP.
I think it was something to do with a blurry lens or something.
Really, I generally don't pay attention to those threads, as I'm not using BMW projectors.

Edit:
I found the thread in question....
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/view...&highlight=e55

I see what you mean... they look fine to me...
It's just when they are compared to a sharp cutoff projector they they look so-so.

i'm gonna be swapping out for some G35 clear lense projectors in a minute

I disagree. I believe it is the job of everyone to correct peoples mistakes, lead by example, and be a part of society.

what your peers do, and accept, is a very important part of life.
Ive seen first hand the results my comments have on this forum.

I **** people off regularly, Im intrusive, and demanding at times,
but i dont care, thats who I am, and with all humility, I believe ive come to be a respected person on this site BECAUSE i stick to my beliefs....even if it might not be what people want to hear.

Ive had alot of people PM me, and thank me for the comments I make, on HIDS, on Street racing, it HAS made a difference.

I personally think sitting back with your head in the sand and HOPING other will do the right thing is a copout.

divorce is a perfect example.
Do you think divorce is so high solely because people arent marrying the right person?

or do you think the fact that divorce in this day and age is a completely acceptable choice, helps sway peoples decisions towards backing out, instead of really working hard to try and make the marriage work?
its an "easy" choice these days, because society has allowed it to be.

Sitting back and letting punk kids street race "because its going to happen" or "because you cant change it" is not who I am.

because that leads to social acceptance.

While ever myself, and the few sane members on here continue to ridicule stupid unsafe behaviour......some of them will learn, and mature.

most will street race anyway, or put HIDs in reflectors causing dangerous lighting on the roads.....

but im willing to be the ******* to make sure that some of them decide not to.

+1 to that!

And to add to it (IMO)... isn't it the responsibility of others in society to prevent people from getting hurt?
If you happened to be walking down the street, and someone was bothering an old lady... wouldn't you stop to help her? It's the right thing to do.
Even if my little bit of ranting makes a change that could save at least one person from getting hurt... I think it's worth it.

i had 10 k HIDs in my lights for about a year....cops never stopped me and i never got flashed. but now im sick of them, they are bad for glare but not as bad as some of anomolous pictures lol. anomolous convinced me to do a retrofit, which is what i'm doing now. In the past 2 months i have learned so much about HID's and now im addicted to cut off lines and modding projectors. so therefore i agree with anomolous in that people should become more educated in HID's before they decide to throw a kit in

Well Im glad we only know each other through the internet because you would probably hate me
I just dont like to adversely affect other peoples lives, I like everyone to be enjoying themselves. You do your thing, I do mine, but there is no bickering or fighting. We just live our lives and enjoy the company.

Well you moved up a notch in my book. I'm the same way, I have no problems calling someone out on behavior that may harm them or someone else.

I particularly like your thoughts on divorce, you are so correct.
