Screw it... I have half an hour to kill...
First... IMADreamer hit the nail on the head along time ago..
Here is why...
Obviously you have special HID pixies that live in your reflectors, because saying that your Chinese PnP kit is better than the other guy with a PnP kit is just stupid...
You BS analogy following it was idiotic, and proves you have no clue what your talking about.
Oh my... I'm on a perch? How many people have come to agree with us after doing a retrofit?-
It's the fact that you are the headstrong kid that is drawing out this debate. It's like arguing black and white... and you say your the grey.
And now you magically control the light being emitted, huh?
In the stock housings, you have no control over where the scattered light goes... so don't bullshit me on how it "hasn't been uncontrolled".
And to thekingsss... do you not realize that putting the two pictures side by side is actually really dumb... the lens in the camera is adjusted to different light in both pictures.
Put Mikeymo-teenagekid's half assed setup beside a real retrofit, and you will see the difference.
So in closing for now... I highly suggest that both of you pull your heads out of your asses before you reply again.

cute kitty
u know whats blinding??
when ppl leave their yellow turn signals on going down the road when its pitch black out
oh and those euro cars with the rear fog lights...thats also confusing as hell cuz u think theyre stepping on the brake all the time
annoying

the point is that with HIDs this is a bad thing because of the intensity of the bulb...it turns into uncontrolled light because there is no projector to focus the intensity into a specific area.
i'm done though, you guys have fun with this one...even though my frosted lenses suck I'll enjoy them.

if you notice in the little orange circle you can still see the red cars turn signal bulbs as well as a definitive circle of the projector vs the white car where the light overpowers the turn signal and has no definitive shape black circle
and you have a halo of glare red circle vs the line of it on the red car due to the camera being moved as everything has the same "glare/blur" to it which is the red circles
also the light out put on the red car is going to the ground [green circle] vs yours that is lacking any real directing of the light
theres the suspense

Might want to re-size the image.
Also... i found this while the thread was on pause...

that was somewhat confusing...however i get the idea...good post
i do agree that the functionality and effectiveness of the proj. is better than without them...thats a no brainer
im not trying to say in any way that reflectors are just as good as projectors
and yes its a bad comparison shot
my point earlier was that the car on the right in the original picture was over the top and unrealistic as an illustration of the amount of glare resulting from using HID's in reflectors
overall that pic doesnt do justice to either the projectors nor the reflectors
#188
if the car on the right is unrealistic, how do you explain the car on the left.....
if the car on the right is exaggurated....wouldnt the one on the left be too?
the fact is, you cant compare two shots of two cars on two different cameras fairly.
side by side, same conditions same camera, same HIDS, just reflectors vs projector?
sorry, but thats a smoking gun.

Could you post a pic up of your cutoff line. That is my main thing I am looking for as well as even light output instead of the "beam" that mine have now. lol. Hence why I was looking for different projectors.

Here's an example;

i think they do that cuz ur supposed to aim the left light a little lower than the right one....cuz if u look at the light pattern from above the right is supposed to go farther so u can see stuff off on the side of the road....im not 100% sure thats why but that seems to make sense

I would love to have projectors on mine however i cant afford that right now nor do i have the knowledge maybe when i get the money i can have someone make me a set...i have 8k hids in mine now...thought id try out some 12k bulbs so went on ebay and got some, put them in and they were ****** hot pink!! So gay lol they had to have sent the wrong bulbs or something i felt like a damn flower going down the road so i put my 8k's back in lol...for the ppl who can do a retrofit whats a ballpark figure of what everything would cost including labor?
#197
depends on the quality of parts you put into it, the deals you are able to find, how skilled you are (ie. can you do the work yourself and not have to pay someone)... what all of those factors it can cost usually a minimum of $5-600 or upwards of $1000.
So far I've spent around $500 on my build and I pretty much have all of the parts (except the wiring harnesses) to complete it over the next 2 weeks, but it would obviously be a lot more if I had to pay someone to do all of the fabrication, painting, etc.

I don't think that is the reasoning behind it because my projectors, the left side of both beams are slightly lower than the right. It is something dealing with the inside of the projector itself and how it was built. For example, the HID's you see in Nissan that change colors, that is not the bulb, it is a metal piece in the lense. If you bend the lense you can create different colors in the top of the beam. But people don't know that so they go out and buy these rediculously high K HID's thinking that is what it is. But anyway, my point is, is I think it has something to do with how they are actually built inside and not done for a reason.
im surprised some of the other guys havent chimed in yet seeing as they seem to know so much about projectors and how they work...im curious to find out too...that was just my guess but i could be wrong
