Hey guys I have a 07 ss/sc and have gone the whole black and yellow theme. I am debating between doing @ black SS stripes from one lip to the other or doing a cf overlay on the hood and trunk. I know U guys are gonna say just get a cf and trunk and hood. U'll spend close to the same blah blah blah. I hate real cf hoods and trunks and I get the vinyl at cost so it wont cost me ****.

 

do whatever you think looks best and keeps your wallet happy..

since your looking to go for an appearance mod, whynot lower the car? but if your only sticking to the topic at hand, id do the stripes

i'd say stripes cuz cf vinyl just doesn't look the same IMO and stripes will look great.

 

I saw CF hood/trunk.. Havent seen too many vinyls so I'm not sure what to think about those.. If I were you I'd go wingless w/ cf hood/trunk. Will look hawt.

Do real carbn fiber. Vinyl cf looks fake anyways. It always does nomatter how real they claim it looks

um no not fail u homos.lol. I hate the wat cf looks over time, I hate the fact that its sooo lightweight. If I want a lightweight hood im much gonna go with fiberglass instead and as for the trunk I have seen very few cf trunks that ever fit like the OEM. They always fit funny and IMO look like shiot so kiss it.lol

um no sorry not major feel. I hate the way that cf looks over time. Plus i hate the weight reduction. If I wanna reduce weight I will go with fiberglass not cf and as far as the trunk goes very few cf trunks i have seen fit right like the OEM. They look like **** IMO and I'm not paying out my ass for that **** either

 

obviously the peoples cf youve seen over time dont know how to care for their investment. mines 3 years old and looks new. no clouding nothing. and the trunks will fit like oem with slight modification and taking time to fit it. Again no problems here. And you think a CF vinyl overlay is going to look any better than an actual cf trunk?! lmao. Failbus.

He hates real carbon fiber for what it is not for what it looks like. Maybe he has bad experience with real carbon fiber but still wants the look. Also, he said he gets the vinyl at cost so it would be considerably cheaper for him.

Just let the poor guy do to his car what he wants. I know he is asking for opinions but they can be given without the insults. Just tell him you don't think it would look good or you don't like it, don't insult him for considering it. I don't mean to single you out hailcesar75, but I was just reading you R8 teaser thread, amazing job on the lights by the way, where you asked that people not call your mod rice and you were getting very defensive when they did. Shouldn't you give others the same respect that you ask of them to give you? Again, sorry to put you on the spot, you have an amazing car and everything.

Constructive Criticism is always a good thing but keep it constructive. Telling people they are stupid or their idea sucks is not constructive.

Personally, I agree with you guys it is not a good idea. The reasons the OP gave for wanting the vinyl such as the way it looks after time will not be solved with vinyl, I am afraid. But, if the cost-benefit ratio is in your favor than I say go for it. The good thing about vinyl if you get it cheap is that you can always remove it if you don't like it and not be out too much.

 

first off no one said it was stupid, or rice, like was said in my thread. no one was insulted here ok. he said he didnt like the look of cf but then wants to get cf look vinyl. it doesnt make sense. hten op clarified his thoughts and said he didnt like the way they fit. its understandable.

second op is the one who should give the respect, calling people homos isnt respect

Agreed. Immature insults is not the way to gain respect. It was completely immature of the OP. I was not trying to defend the way the OP was acting, it was immature and inappropriate. I was just suggesting you guys should make your criticism a little more constructive. You guys can say whatever you want about the OP or his idea, I could really care less. Just when it comes your guy's time to be criticized don't expect anything less than the same.
