Experimenting - Comparisons (56k no no)
Well recently i did a write up and how to on tinting your tail lights etc. well i used the last of my nightshades on my damn reverse lights so i was left with 2 options... 1... wait a week or so for some more nightshades to come in the mail, or 2... buy some cheapy transparent paint at walmart.
well im a broke ass college student so i settled for the cheap ****...
and well... it looks pretty good.
BTW Also Used Duplicolor Clearcoat On Both After Tinting.
Pic NUmber 1: THis is the paint i used this time from walmart.
it has a translucent black top that almost looks blue, i was kinda hesitant to buy it at first because i thought i was getting blue. but it was only 3 bucks so who gives..
Pic Number 2: The trunk lights (reverse lights) were done with nite shades made by VHT...
The Brake Lights were done with the Krylon 'crystal clear' paint. The colors match pretty well.
Pic Number 3: Here is a close-up of the nite shades... it's very smooth
Pic Number 4: Here is a Close-up of the Krylon Crystal Clear... i noticed it to be a little rough compared to the nite shades. After the clearcoat though it looks pretty good. Looks a little flatter in color
Pic Number 5: Here is the pic with brake lights on around dusk...
and that concludes the post, was just giving a comparison between the 2. overall nightshades was probably a little cleaner looking but only if u inspect it with a fine tooth comb. but for the price of the walmart **** you cant go wrong and it lets light through great.

How many coats of the crystal clear did you use? Any sanding before, or between coats?
