Extreme Dimensions Cobalt Sedan Trunk

Hello CobaltSS.net,

We have had a lot of interest in making a special trunk like we did for the cobalt coupe Tjin Style trunk, we now are going to get into a trunk for the sedan people. We have had some good ideas being bounced around on another thread that was open by some members and here is some ideas.

- We would need a minimum of 15 people on this group buy, if all the interest goes through.
- We will not offer it with a third brake light unfortunately.
- We will be able to offer it with a key hole.

style 1 - Duckbill style trunk.
**Pictures are used as reference **

Either way I like where this is going. I prefer the height and thiness of the duck bill. However the line of the the CSL from the rear would look good with our body lines.

We can make them with the key hole and brake light option if people want it.

as much as I like the CSL styling better.. i really dont see how thats going to line up well with the styling on the sedan rear. the body doesnt narrow up on the top where the trunk corners would be so the lip would look off and kind of out of place.. the tjin style lip that hangs over the quarter panel is about all the cobalts got going for it imo

just try imagining it here

just using this as an example.. i think you'd almost need the trunk to have some edges hang off to get more this type of appearance (though not as exaggerated)

When the previous thread was started, people asked for something different. For our coupe cobalts, we already offer the Tjin style trunk and it looks just like that above.

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/pict...thread-289639/

I thought we wanted to do something different.

I'm open to concepts on what could look good.. but I'm just not invisioning it on the CSL or Duckbill designs.. Not sure how you'd make it look.. I've been photoshopping for a while now trying to make it look how its pictured on the BMW's and it doesnt even look close to that good

heres what I could get to look best on photoshop.. with 3rd brakelight (although I wouldnt care either way), no keyhole for sure.. even though this may look nice (which i think it does). I still think the view looking directly at it from behind may look goofy and not flow

with 3rd, no keyhole, CSL style

Padlock what would it look like if it looked more like Qwiks spoiler in the middle(flatter) and then rounded off on the corners?

i like it too.. sad part is I'd want my trunk red (basically identical to the photo), which means I wouldnt wanna pay for CF just to paint it (wasted money)... so for what its worth I'm better off just building my own with a universal lip spoiler from a wingless base model trunk to achieve that look

I'm still down to make more photoshops though if people got ideas

I have a very serious question to ask of you Extreme Dimensions thats a little off topic... so if you can make a whole trunk, I'm assuming you would be able to make just a lip like the one in the photo below (only looking like the photoshop above)? It would be so cheap to make in comparison and even if it took a little work on my part to attach it via drilling holes or something like that (maybe even just 3M tape) I'd be fine with that. I'm looking at this from the aspect that finding a matching base model wingless trunk to work with is really not that hard to do and a heck of a lot cheaper from my side of things

Agreed with all of this... I would want mine colored matched and I love the lip idea, it would be cheaper and achieve the same look.

I really like that lip but the biggest problem i see is that lips like that cost around $500-ish. Plus i would still have to fill and , paint my stock lid. So $700-ish for a new lid isnt bad
