short day today, sean had to meet his contracter at 1130 so i only had a few hours to work, started candy'ing the lip on the rims but wont finish till monday/tuesday of next week when i can get back there. Dash pieces are done though. Have black "Cobalt SS" lettering to go on it
And a dude is airbrushing a file cabinet for a car show just to show some cool **** he did.
hes still working on the highlights and is gonna do the eyes and ****, then there gonna candy over the whole thing i think, i dont really know ehe specifics of it. Asked him to Airbrush "SS" on my interior piece but he said hes not that great at letters unless he has a stencil, he didnt wanna **** it up

Well i have my charge pipes in gloss black, and I have a gloss black dejon intake with an AEM dry filter, the silver HKS, so when thats in it should make it look alot nicer. But i want to get my intake manifold powdercoated gloss black and my valve cover either black with orange "Ecotec Turbo Charged" or Orange with Black "ecotec turbocharged". Also put my orange fuse box cover on today and am gonna get a black "SS" sticker to put on it

iv never dissasembled calipers myself yet, or changed brakes as a matter of fact. and if i was gonna take **** out i might as well of just taken them off and hung them in the booth, but i wasnt too meticulous about the calipers, im just interested in the face of them color matching the car, thats really all. the rest of it is whatever to me, im not being real picky about them as its kind of an experiment to see how the paint even holds up on them. If it starts to get shitty becasue of the heat then im gonna have to see if G2 can color match and ill have to redo them anyways, but the primer held up good and saw a video online of a body shop candy'ing calipers. So who knows lol

i gotta decide what to do but i think a mostly black engine bay would look real nice and clean with just like ecotec turbo in orange and ****. I hate cheesy looking engine bays, if I could do it and get it to hold up, id like to do a kind of marble/woodgrain valve cover in orange and black. I tink that would look sweet. like mostly black with orange swirls kinda in it. but its just this whole high temperature thing that sucks.

^lol right! im very happy i went with it. It is a really beautiful color. I like it cause it doesnt really look OEM, and its pretty wild. Its actually pretty fun to spray that candy too. Like spraying the silver and then when you start to spray the orange watch it change it to much. Im really happy with it.

When are you going to paint the damn thing so we can do a photo shoot. As far as your calipers i used a Testors model car paint that i found to match my car on my Baer calipers and they look like they did when i sprayed them. We need to have an East Coast Cobalts meet before i deploy in July.

^Thats what this honda kid said to me in class who painted a bunch of valve covers that he sells! he lays down hi temp paint first and then paints over it, but i didnt understand how that helped because the paint on top of it still gets an extremely high temperature. And he couldnt tell me how they held up because he never actually put one he painted on his car, he just sells it and then thats it lol

i hope not, i think the calipers will be alright also since there outside the car and when your driving there cooling. But i really wanna do something different to my valve cover and that gets damn HOT. Especially on a turbo with the hot charge pipes running across it and everything. I could get it powdercoated but i would like to customize it in a way powdercoating cant do
